Landon Donovan, Miroslav Klose- In

OMG that would be good, but sadly, don't think the funds are going to make it for either.

But OMG that would be good....droolworthy. And it would be a step towards doing something NOW, as in the 2011/2012 season opposed to the perennial "build for the future."

Another ridiculous comment to add to your long list..

To be fair, the US teams are not exactly world beaters yet, so I see what he means. A tour of say Germany would be more challenging and force the team out of a pre-season slumber.

For marketing it's worth the tour - plus we did well the season after we were last there.

I'm sorry, is there some debate around the merits of American teams?

Garston Royal British Legion v LA Galaxy....I know who my money would be on.

No one said they were World beaters..

MLS teams will be in mid season form when the All mighty English teams come over to pounce them..

How you figure a German club (also) in pre-season form is a better test is beyond me.

1) sell deadwood i.e. Yobo, Yak and Vaughan
2) sell nobody else than the three above
3) build on the current squad with the acquisition of Owen and Larsson on frees and use the money from the sales of loan players to sign Landon Donovan and Ashley Williams
4) tie Fellaini down to a new contract

Do something along these lines and i'll be confident of a challenge on the top six next year

1. Have a philosophy and idea of how we want to play going into the season, and put that into practice during pre-season.

2. Don't "go with what we've got". I'm not expecting miracles in the transfer market, but we have enough saleable assets to freshen things up and keep things moving a long.

3. Recruitment should be solely aimed at attacking players, wingers, creative midfielders and forwards. Don't just sign a striker and expect him to score 20 goals a season on limited service, we'll get nowhere.

I expect the Halewood Blues of this world to pipe up when Moyes goes and signs someone we've never heard of and he surprises everyone...

Plus I think he will have some money to spend...

We need another forward, a winger and a full back as cover.

I think as it's us we have to learn to expect the unexpected. Nobody thought we'd get a Fellaini when it happened, not too many people thought we would literally not pay actual money for a player for what feels like 37 transfer windows.

Anything could happen this summer.

I personally would love N'Zogbia and Sturridge, both young exciting talents who are used to the PL, posses pace and an eye for goal. Oh and a freebie LB to cover Baines. I dont think Im asking for too much!

Yeah I've liked the look of Sturridge for ages. Shame this spell at Bolton will have added a premium to his price tag.

He'd be close to the ideal signing, for what we need.
