Nuremberg have/had some talents lately. Brown and Uzun went to Frankfurt, Jeltsch to Stuttgart, Tzimas to Brighton, Castrop is off to Gladbach. Got absolutely raided.

Guess it's the good and bad thing about having a great academy system but being too small to hold onto them.

Stuttgart and Frankfurt seem very much like Brighton over here in terms of picking up talent before others at good value though.

What do you think of the likes of Wimmer and Amoura at Wolfsburg, both seems to be getting a bit of praise at the moment.

I voted 6-8 new players, spending between £30-70m.

I'd be amazed if it were any more than that. Think we'll still be looking for cheaper deals this summer.

What I like is there's a nice core of 22-23 year olds bubbling if Alcaraz is signed full time.

O'Brien
Branthy
Tim
Alcaraz
Ndiaye

That is pretty promising then you have Garner and McNeill who are a year or two older and very experienced in the prem now.

The key is to replace the OOCs like Young, Keane, Holgate, Doucs and DCL with much better quality than many of them have shown in last three years. I trust Moyes far more to get that right than if Dyche was doing the transfers with Thelwell.

The OOCs out and the 18-21 age group being the main focus would create somewhat of a conveyor belt behind the 7 you mentioned.

Could do with a couple more experienced (cheap) hands to guide everything along as well.

Aside from Branthwaite, Thelwell signed all them players you've named.

Dyche surely had some say if Harrison was continually being signed. You couldn't get a more Dyche player from outside Burnley if you tried with his workrate but chronic lack of end product. Young aswell was a lost cost experienced head that Dyche loves aswell.

Moyes hasn't come back to have no say whatsoever in transfers as that was an issue for him at West Ham. I think if it's 5-6 in the summer then three will be Thelwell picks and other three will be more ones Moyes pushes for and that's the ideal formula.

Villa have a well known DOF in Monchi and yet in the summer Emery was wanting to sign Ross Barkley still.

Gana is huge for the young midfield players so he gets another year if he wants it. To be still playing at the level he is hints at brilliant preparation and professionalism.

Don't forget Baines is now with the first team every single day of the week and thankfully Seamus has reverted to mainly a coaching role (nailed on he'll announce his retirement a few days before Southampton) so you've got those two to spell it out to the new recruits what it means to play for this club on a daily basis.

Presuming Alcaraz and Lindstrom are signed permanently, and everyone else leaves. Also assuming O’Brien carries in at RB for us and no one else in contract is sold.

Left back, centre back, central midfield, right winger, number 10. Striker.

6 starter quality players would do the job.

Pickford

O’Brien Branthwaite new CB new LB

Garner new CM

New RW, Alcaraz, Ndiaye

New striker

Patterson, Mykolenko, Tarkowski, Gueye, Lindstrom, McNeil, new 10, Beto, Chermiti

I was at the Real Betis Vs Real Sociedad match last night and they had a young lad playing left side of a front three but regularly switching to the right called Jesus Rodriguez Caraballo who looked absolutely fantastic. Two good feet, quick , fearless. He sometimes held on to the ball too long and gassed out a bit in the second half but he's only 19. There are definitely top quality youngsters out there if you have the right scouting network. I'm sending my report to Big Kev shortly!

Definitely a solid nucleus to work with there, although I'm not sold on Lindstrom yet - I like him don't get me wrong but our 18-20m option on him is too pricey for a player that hasn't demonstrated any end product yet. I'd also like to see O'Brien moved to centre back and for us to finally get a right back in. I think if we hold on to Branthwaite, he and O'Brien have all of the tools you would want as a centre back pairing to have with Tarks providing excellent cover. A developmental centre back to bring our options to four and we are completely set there.

Also if Beto keeps on smashing them in then he keeps the jersey for me, and the profile of the new striker we go for may be slightly different. Hopefully Chermiti comes back soon and contributes before the end of the season, but if he doesn't, maybe a loan to help him recuperate and make up for lost time would be in his best interests rather than playing second/third fiddle.

Always good to have options though.
