Done Kefalonia a couple of years ago, beautiful island. A car is a must though so you get to see the whole island, some stunning little villages dotted around, great food and great tavernas too… only 1 supermarket on the island though (discounting the numerous mini markets in the resorts), that was a Lidl.I've recently retired always, said I'd start booking spontaneous short notice holidays if it suited, a couple of days ago I saw a cheapy for Kefalonia leaving in 10 days thought that'll do me.
I've been to a few other Greek islands over the years and always enjoyed them, looking forward to this one, just B&B so we'll enjoy visiting a few Tavernas
Benidorm Old Town, is a nice as anywhere in Spain mate and that`s the end of the beach you want to be on too.
Famous for the vibrant Tapas Alley, ( a glass of decent wine / tapas 5 euro ), a mix of locals, Spanish tourists, gay couples and decent English people.
Some truly authentic and decent places to eat and drink, with no hassle or dickheads / kids on coke.
Two very old Everton pubs / bars there too - Morans ( tiny and open until dawn, keeps weird hours though ) and Vincents on the edge of the old town and the area that the locals live.
I love the place mate, as does my missus, who`s now goes a couple of times a year with her mates.
It`s still very reasonably priced too, just keep away from the " strip " which is nasty.

I'm staying on my own in a different hotel to the stag party......own room, better hotel....bit out of the way of the madness, so I can chill in the day and without the rest of them pressuring to get on the ale at 10am!!!
I did the exact same for a big 50th birthday bash, when there was about twenty of us.
Stayed in a little aparthotel up a cobbled street in the Old Town, up at 6am before it got too hot, jogged a couple of laps on the front,then went for a swim for 30 mins, it was ace.
Apart from one day, which was a blow out, I was up at least four hours before everyone else

Haven’t been to that one, but have been in Morans and Vincent’s loads, will look out for it.
Vincent’s even has an Everton road sign high up on the wall off the road outside

I like to stay around that area, stayed at Hotel Colon on the front right close to Vincents last summer for another Stag do...again all on my own - top floor room over-looking the beach.....while the rest stayed in dives near the strip, with no windows and 4 beds to a room!!!!Every day on that beach at 8 am, little swim, read, walk and a nice lunch....then met up with them lot smashed!!

You won’t get anything decent to eat on the strip, it’s just junk, so you should be able to persuade them that the Old Town is the place to go.
It’s not just Spanish food there either, there’s German places, a couple of very good Italians, Argentinian steak houses, as well as all the tapas bars
70th birthday this year, so we're treating ourselves to a Mediterranean cruise followed by 7 days in Roda, corfu
