…..if you live in UK, strongly recommend obtaining a GHIC. Takes 5 mins to apply, it’s free and you can add partner/kids to your application. All you need is your NI Number;
The UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) lets you get necessary state healthcare in the European Economic Area (EEA), and some other countries, on the same basis as a resident of that country. This may be free or it may require a payment equivalent to that which a local resident would pay.
The UK GHIC has replaced the existing European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). If you have an existing EHIC you can continue to use it until the expiry date on the card. Once it expires, you'll need to apply for a UK GHIC to replace it.
You can apply for a new card up to 9 months before your current card expires.
A UK GHIC is free and lasts for up to 5 years. Apply for your new card through the NHS website. Avoid unofficial websites – they may charge you a fee to apply.

When you live somewhere that gets 45C+, 'sumer hols' is an escape of a different variety.

Sad thing is in Rhodes..........the doctors do split shifts between the hospital and Euromedica.Euromedica charging a fortune if you have no insurance.
Just applied for ours, not sure I’d be able to tell the difference between a public and private one abroad tbh.
Will have to do a a bit of research just in case!
Missus had cancer ;ast year so went straight to Euromedica....No messing about.When Op was done she went to the General Hospital.Hey Presto who was checking up on her.Same Doctor.So basically what I am saying is.....you are in the best possible hands in either place.
