Who Neiler? Vaughan?

Yup mate, he would add to the squad if im being honest, would give us the kind of bite we have misswed in the middle since Cars and Grav - like i say hes a busy little player.

Blackpools slump in form has coincided with him being injured, he returned the weekend.

Miroslav Klose would be a great piece of business given our financial situation but I've got this sneaking suspicion this might be the summer we actually get Michael Owen. I'd have had him before he went to Man Utd to be honest but I don't think he could offer any more than Saha or Beckford at this point in his career.

Obinna would be amazing for us, if we have any possibility of getting him. I also think David Vaughan would fit into the team, he is an Everton type player, with a good work ethic!

Vaughan has good stats, but he'd get nowhere near the first team ahead of Fellaini, Rodwell and Neville. He's too old to be just a squad man. Klose is way out of our league.

I like Larsson but we've got Coleman, Arteta, Osman, Gueye, Anichebe and Bily who can play in the wide areas. He's not different enough to what we already have.

Roe-Coker wouldn't improve us.

Michael Owen is too injury prone.

Matthew Upson is awful. If he doesn't stay at West Ham I think he'll move down rather than up the league.

Scholes will retire from playing.

Carew might retire because of injury too.

Phillips is too old.

Taylor-Fletcher isn't good enough for us.

I like Gilks but he's had a serious knee injury.

Bosingwa has resigned for Chelsea.

It would have to be a pay as you play deal for Hargreaves.

Barnes has previously shown promise, but his career is slipping away.

Dyer is too injury prone.

Caldwell isn't good enough.

Vaughan is 28 and IMO a better midfielder than Rodders and Neville. Ive seen Vaughan a bit for Blackpool alongside Adam and he's a very good ball player and as very good vision and long & short passing range and can spread the play and he's the kind of player we havent got in our squad and i think he'd be a decent freebie, he wouldnt be a regular but someone we could count on, he's a decent little player.

I agree on a free, hes a busy player similar to Bullard or Graveson, he chases down he can play it simply and keep pocession, he would give us great legs in there, something we have missed in terms of pressing. I also like the fact he knows his limitations, he knows what he is and how to get the ball to the better players to hurt teams - see Adam Charlie.

Good points Neiler, when we were drawing a lot against teams like Birmingham and Wigan etc I just wondered if we were being out muscled and whether we missed the sort of player who could break it up and add a bit of bite to the team, is he that sort of player or as you say someone like Graveson who can spray it around? Perhaps if you can have that sort of player doing that it allows the Osmans and Artetas to roam forward and add the killer touch. Charlie Adam would be great for us but I guess we may be priced out of that one. Will be interesting to see whether he comes or not.
