Everton also hope to finalise the £18m signing of Lucas Digne from Barcelona after Marcel Brands travelled to Spain on Friday to finalise negotiations. Brands also wants to recruit Colombia centre-back Yerry Mina.

Though the Colombian has initially said he will fight for his place, Barca only have three non-EU slots and they want to allocate one of those to Willian should he sign from Chelsea. the other two are assigned to Philippe Coutinho and Arthur Melo.

^ Can't work out whether we're actually after Digne or whether we are just trying to force Celtic's hand. I'd be happy with either but Tierney seems like he could have more potential so it's strange if we are haggling, especially since The Joyce said he was Silva's top target.

Nar, think we have seen the back of both personally, but as this Richarlson business shows, I honestly dont have a clue whats going on.

Think it will be Richarlson, Digne and Mina.

Really got this feeling that Gana will be punted, not sure why, just probably the fact that he doesnt really fit into how Silva normally sets up IMO.

Hes not a sitter, so cant play as a 6 like Silva likes, hes a Jack Russell type and IMO he doesnt have enough to his game to play as an 8.

Said at the start I thought we'd sign 5 this summer, cb, lb, left winger, centre mid and then one other attacking player.

Mina and Richarlison tick two of those boxes, either Tierney or this French lad one of the other boxes, wouldn't be shocked to see us try for a high quality loan in cm and the other attacker who knows really.

I think he's needed in a 4-3-3 myself, he wins the ball back and can simply lay it off to siggy to create or have a booming box to box center mid next to him.

I'd be gutted if we let him go tbh, we need Mccarthy's wages off the squad well before he goes.

Silva likes a sitter and a genuine big box to box type, Gueye is neither, he's also probably a player who'd fetch in a very sizeable fee as his reputation is high, under a long contract etc.

He's also about a foot smaller than Silva likes in cm

I find it interesting that since the first flurry of reports concerning our attempts to ‘sign’ Tierney it’s gone quiet and , more pertinently, no other suitor has appeared.
Personally I suspect the whole thing was merely a tentative exploration by all parties.
We wondered if Celtic might be interested in selling, they didn’t particularly want to but might have been tempted if the price was right and the player was ambivalent about the move anyway.

I really like him, hes very good at what he does, just from everything I know about Silva, which in fairness you could write on the back of a stamp, but anyway, suggests that he wont fit into Silvas tactics.

Of course if we wanted to play 4-2-3-1 at times or have 2 DMs in a 4-3-3 hes a valuable player, but it might be a case of we get offered a decent fee and Silva wants to trade him for a "different option", im of course just guessing.

Pretty much, I'd guess we have certain positions as no matter what we need to fill, cb, lb, lw, the rest are then dependent on shifting more than just the obvious ones.

Wouldn't shock me though to see us spending a lot more than we bring in by the start of the season, to then recoup a fair bit after our season kicks off with sales abroad.

..well you called Lozano at the start of the window, I have to agree with others about it being unlikely if we have Richarlison but if we do it would be exciting. Happy if we get Mina, he’s needed.
