Why do we need a DOF?
Just get rid of both of them plus Little Fat Sam and Shakespeare and spend as big as we can on a top class manager and tell him:
1. You have complete control of ALL footballing matters;
2. We only sign players you personally think are right for your style of play;
3. Go to win every game, home and away....if we lose trying then that’s a huge improvement;
4. Get the fans onside by playing adventurous football, playing form players and being honest in post match assessments.

Those four things will have us moving back towards where we want to be. I just can’t see how a really top manager can work properly with a DOF unless he chooses him personally.
That is kind of what I meant. If we don't need one then that is perfectly fine with me. However, if our new manager would like one to work with then by all means let him bring in who he wants.

Other way around for me. We decide we need one, or we decide we don’t. If we have one (and I think we probably should), then he should be helping choose the next manager.
Problem with Walsh is that he never has been a DOF. Appointing him has backfired spectacularly.

Jack Wilshere being linked in papers tonight! What does everyone think about that one?
If can stay fit would be great addition, like Walcott a class above what we have.
I don't rate him too much but I was wrong about Walcott so what do I know

Would be a very very VERY good signing, only problem is allardyce isnt the manager to get the best out of him.
He just needs the right manager to get him to the level he was before he got injured

Mmmm......Walcott, now Wilshere, maybe Aaron and Jack the Baptists are paving the way for the Arsene the Messiah..
