Succession Planning - Managerial Wishlist

I don’t think TFG will hire him again so it’s a moot point. I just find it a b it corduroy’s that Everton fans consider Mourinho not good enough for Everton but Real Madrid consider him good enough for the best club in the world. Twice.
Again, it's not that he's not a good manager, he wouldn't be a good manager for US. Two things can be correct.

I think it's the character they want, not the manager. they are a state.
Can't see him lasting though.

What is it you like about him ? is it the non fear factor he carries towards opponents because it can't be fast flowing football

I think if Mourinho had this team this season we’d be in Europe and probably have gone deep in the cups. His league form is very good, he’s consistent, and he wins one off games in big finals even when the underdog. Yes he’s not going to be playing wide open football but frankly we have a load of old slow players anyway.

I think he’d be the perfect manager to challenge the prevailing culture at the club even if it was in the short term.

We don’t need to worry about it though because he’s going to Real Madrid and we’ll keep Moyes for another season before probably rehiring Marco Silva in the ultimate irony.

Silva will be gone this season so you don't need to worry about that one.

I wouldn't mind Evertonians turning their noses up at Mourinho (for reasons of unsuitability) if they were properly consistent and did the same for Moyes - an inferior manager on EVERY level.

But it's hilarious they can pooh-pooh the likes of Mourinho or Ancelotti and embrace the conservative cardigan so completely. It's a self-esteem issue. The same fellas probably got turned down by the attractive girls in their younger days and made do with a more modest alternative and have now decided to make a virtue of it to the extent that nobody can compare with Nora Batty.

Close thread, EFC are not succession planning at all. Blank Angus and TFG fully on the moyes train.

Here’s to more happy dissatisfaction.

Daveys more likely to get a contract extension than to them looking to possible alternatives for the future, unless we nose dive in league positions/form early next season, and then we will be back in the cycle of reactive leadership and the panic mode hiring of managers and staff, because we have not done any succession planning.

Correct.

Some very good managers with proven ability to achieve in the PL and who would come here in an instant...with no complications of buying contracts out. There for the taking.

It's just another indicator that TFG are not serious about this club. They see this as 'the stadium club' - the club with fans that they can exploit while putting all their hopes into Roma.

Everyone can see that now.
