Succession Planning - Managerial Wishlist

They don't need to be top 6 level as we are not playing at that level. They need to be able to offer mins and be able to do a job and there are managers outhere who would have integrated one or more of them by now.
But does having them give us a ‘far better squad’ than we had? Just not convinced of that. Especially when you look at the state we were in by January.

People are angry about falling away from Europe (mainly top 6) so are blaming Moyes for not utilising players, but at the same time saying the players aren’t at top 6 level and don’t need to be, but expect us to be challenging for top 6?

Is that right?

We have about 5 players who would be good enough to play at decent European level and 2 of them have been injured for a large part of the season. The rest of our squad is, both starting and subs, mid table players, with a lot of them lower mid table/bottom half standard.
I think people are mainly angry because unfashionable teams like Brentford and Bournemouth are above us. If it had been Spurs and Newcastle instead, then there wouldn’t be half as much crying.

It's more all the small stuff that goes with having Moyes as manager for me. The stuff we all knew would never change. Its why for me whilst he is here we will always be the bridesmaid and never the bride.

Is it a far better squad though? Looking at the current team, Dyche had all of them apart from KDH.

Now you could argue Moyes could use Dibling, Alcaraz, Rohl and Aznou more, but nobody could honestly say these are top 6 level players.
I'm going say yes because Dyche didn't even have Ndiaye in his full season, started jack Harrison and that's not even counting O'Brien , kdh , grealish or Tim. O'Brien hasnt been exceptional in attack but I think he's been better overall than Ashley Young , I know people have grumbles with the recent transfer window because Moyes is too obstinate to play most of our younger recruits until he's done extensive vetting , but our squad was far weaker than it is now. Even our strikers which were rondon and incredibly out of form dcl when he was fit

Has surprised me with how well he’s done at Newcastle. I didn’t rate him much at Bournemouth but has done well at Newcastle.

I just can’t have his record v Liverpool across a number of clubs. It makes Everton look competitive in that fixture.
Looks straight for the Liverpool record over the Cup win and champions league qualification.

Not sure how you didn’t rate him at Bournemouth?

He took them from the verge of being relegated to non-league to the Premier League, where he kept them up for several years against all odds. All while playing decent footy.

They are close to qualifying for the Champions league this season, and that is on the back of Eddie Howe absolutely transforming the club.

Just always felt his football at Bournemouth was quite open and they got rolled over by top teams quite easily at times. He did a good job overall but at that point I wouldn’t have wanted his football at Everton. At Newcastle he seemed to tighten up significantly and his teams last few seasons have been much more solid in my view.

Not really, but do you want a manager who will never win another league game against them. In fact probably barely ever draw a league game against them. He makes Moyes’s derby record look good.
Oh yeah I get that, it just wouldn't have been a first thought in my mind when a managers name pops up.

Howe does carry a lot of Moyes traits though, so would you be comfortable with him.
