Stop Trying to be Edgy

Haven't got a problem with people being critical of the manager/players when it's warranted, but moaning for moaning's sake is a tad bellendish.

Some of that happens for sure. But last night was dreadful and a great opportunity to nail 3rd wasted. All teams can lose, the 60’s and 80’s teams I watched lost, but if we ever want to win anything the team has to gee itself up, occasionally throw caution to the wind and have a go. Last night we were flat, not up for the fight and in my own opinion didn’t really try. And Coleman should not be captain on the pitch. We used to moan about Jags ffs.....

Oh I agree mate we were atrocious last night. Problem is though last night came on the back of a 4 game winning streak in the league with some of our best players out so it's mad the way some people are losing it. For me things haven't change, the depth in our squad is crap and until we rectify that we're going to have games like last night.

I still can’t get over Richy, it’s like he was still concussed....

Sometimes with Richarlison, it's almost as if when he is at risk of losing possession, he cant resist attempting to take on a dual with the opposition players rather than make the easy pass to a team mate, to keep posession. As if trying to prove something to himself. His team play goes awol.

I think it falls somewhere inbetween super competitiveness, selfishness and sulking!

It’s just so bloody annoying, losing home games to the likes of Leeds and West Ham. But it’s gone, I’ve calmed down, we go on to the next game.

What I find puzzling though is that we went on that 4-game winning streak without our so called better players.
Richarlison and Coleman were awful last night, but they go straight back in when fit. Richarlison is regularly touted on here as our best player, but he is miles away from that this season. And as for Sigurdsson, well I’m speechless really. I’m trying to think of one, just one, occasion last night in 90+ minutes where he did something even vaguely positive. I can’t.

To sum up though, if you’d offered me 12 points before Leicester, Chelsea, Arsenal, Sheffield Utd & West Ham I’d have taken it.

Fine margins. West Ham got the win last night with a combination of defensively solid if unadventurous play, a bit of good luck when needed and Everton not playing well enough to break them down.

Exactly the same way Everton have got a few results in large spells of this season. Defensively pragmatic due to missing a few players and making the most of limited chances.

Too many let the final result paper over the cracks with a win and then lose their head when that fine margin flips the other way. It's more or less the same side that drew at Burnley, got turned over at home to Leeds and sneaked a tight win at a pretty dreadful Sheffield Utd - very susceptible to those fine margins until we have real quality throughout the squad.

It's fine to kick off at a performance but anyone who has ever even thought of questioning Ancelotti being manager is a serous head the ball....

.....Although could probably do a good job in defence if they can.. actually head the ball.

It'd be puzzling if those four wins were with a swashbuckling brand of football or comfortably playing the other side off the park but they weren't. Average sides can sometimes put a run together if things go well for them and less well for their opponents.

The same way they can sometimes be on the wrong side of things and look worse than they are.
