Guardiola will have him thinking he's a combination of Beckenbauer, Bobby Moore and Baresi by now. He's full of himself and just right for a massive fall from grace.

Funny how he now states he'll belt the ball into row Z at City but the arrogant little divvy was scolding Everton supporters 9 months ago for urging him to do it.

Such needless hate towards a young player who never behaved badly or did anything wrong whilst at the club.

Of the big money departures we've had over the years, only really Rooney has left and thrived. Will he be more Rooney than Lescott? I suppose time will tell, but I suspect both parties will do better next season as a result of the move.

He is gone and we move on. But after only 4 games it was inevitable that 'he has become a better player since leaving Everton' bull would be trotted out. Those headlines were already in place from a year ago when he was being told to join Chelsea to 'become a better player and further your career'. Let's see how good he is after he has played half a season at City.

Completely agree. Stones is a media darling & regardless of his form last year we were always going to get around £50 million for him.

The whole player improves once he goes to a better team argument is a flawed one. The ball is actually in play anything from 45 to 65 minutes & city will then have that ball most likely over 60% of the time. The opponent will then only have the ball in city's final third 20% of that time.

Can't be bothered working that out but it's not a lot of minutes my point is he I'll be actually defending for a hell of a lot less minutes at city than Everton so his positive attributes will shine through.

The issues in his game will be marginalised too as in games like city v Sunderland whereby at Everton the talk would have been stones megged for equaliser another mistake city went on to win the game and it's forgotten about.

He also went off injured against West Ham now that can happen to anyone but seems to happen to him a lot he needs to toughen up.

Finally will his clear inability to win headers when under physical pressure be addressed at city most Likely but I'm not sure it will be focused upon initially like it would have been under Koeman.

In short I agree with those who say stones would have improved more at Everton under Koeman certainly defensively anyway.

Good luck to the lad he is a cracking player & has time on his side. Good deal for both teams although i fear for him & every other defender who plays against Suarez messi & neymar

Correct. Stones is a good footballer. But I think he is an awful defender as he spends his time ball watching.
Any active forward will get the drop on him most times, whether the ball be in the air or on the deck. Or indeed, when they don't have the ball.
Row Z? Do one. Nobody can teach you when to clear it, you troll.
Anyway, shame he's gone. Thanks for the funds, and now he's sod all to do with us, let's move on.
Other than to stuff Citeh every time we play them.
Have to disagree

He isn't an awful defender, he is a very classy defender that still has a massive amount to learn.

He will be a top class defender for many a year, but I still feel he is better off in Spain

Off he will look a much better player and will make less mistakes this season due to the fact he's playing for a team talent level is a mile above us, does it make him actually a better player or defender though, not really, stick Coleman or Baines into that city team and they'd look brilliant as well.

Del will score against them though by capatilising on a mistake by him.

Said nothing wrong there, the row z jibe made me laugh though.

Tells me the lack of trust in Martinez was clearly down to the lack of defensive capability.

Worth pointing out that when Pique was his age he was absolutely toilet.
No he wasn't. Not imo, anyway. Pisque played a game or two for United and looked absolutr=te class even then.

Its not hate. I don't like his attitude. He's arrogant and has made it his policy to portray the club who made him as a huge burden for him and drag on his rise to world domination.

Everton made him, and Everton forgave him for his teary transfer request and backed him to the hilt. Then he repays that with disrespect.

Whatever kings ransom he's getting at City he should be handing half of that back for the first year to Everton in the Community...give to hard up ex-players (more important players to this club than he ever could be) a few bob that they earned and weren't paid, and he was paid but never earned.

By telling the crowd to calm down ? I'm fine with that, they were acting like a bunch of beauts toward him.

I can't remember the crowd being beauts towards him to be honest mate, just supporters concerned that he was showboating in our box when the game was in the balance. Do that when your winning comfortably definitely, but not when your in a poor run of form and drawing against a side who are pushing at the top of the league. He was partronising the fans who obviously care more for the club than he ever did or would.

I like him as a footballer, but he comes across as a whiny cry arse.

Would you rather him make up some bs ? he's being honest and fair play to him.

He doesn't seem arrogant to me at all, You're being overly precious imo.

What disrespect ? He was an absolute model pro after the Chelsea saga, literally... he hit his best form shortly after and everyone was going mental over how impressive he's been. The first third of the season he was absolutely outstanding.
