Hong Kong Bluey
Player Valuation: £750k
Sure, part ex with Aguero anyone?
Never really stood a chance though. Had great ability and potential but never got the chance to prove it. Could go the same way from Stones
He's going back to Argentina next year isn't he?Sure, part ex with Aguero anyone?
We got over Rooney. We will get over Stones.
TBF if it wasn't for Roberto we wouldn't be about to turn a £3m investment into a £53m payout (albeit with 15% to Barnsley). Moyes never wanted him - he didn't even get on a Moyes bench in that last 6 months. He was on his way to sign for Wigan (i.e. RM) and was told to sign for Everton instead. (Ferguson said in his updated autobiography Moyes was tapped up in the December).
So yes, last 12-18 months RM has messed up a lot of players as well as the team. If the Rags are still offering that much then I agree he's potentially next year's Sterling, so sell. Worst case is he's actually as good as some predicted. We still got good money for him.
Stones is 10x the player Rodwell was though. Beyond the 09/10 season Rodwell did absolutely nothing for us, I was astounded when City signed him, he had absolutely no chance of making it there. In his last 6 months here Gibson came in and took his place in the team and reminded us what an actual midfielder looked like. I'm confident that Stones' and Rodwell's experiences at City will be worlds apart.Jack is a great example of what lies in wait for Stones at City.
He made a mistake in his very first home game for them which lead to a goal against City and he was immediately put under the spotlight.
He never recovered from it mentally and then injuries kept him back so he never got the chance to nail down a regular first team spot.
Fabian Delf is another who has seen his career stall since going there.
I am disinclined to say owt about wee Raheem as anyone with half a brain knew he wasn't worth half of what they paid for him before he even kicked a ball for City.
Joining those kind of clubs which demand instant return for massive money is not ideal for young players still making their way in the game IMO.
If John diesn't hit the ground running there he will struggle, especially if he keeps making the errors we have become so accustomed to seeing.

He was targeted by teams last year as a weak defender, and that'll get even worse at City, who are not renowned for their top quality CBs. The City fans won't cut him any slack if he does anything to hinder their title challenge.Jack is a great example of what lies in wait for Stones at City.

Rodwell wasn't 'reasonably priced' when he went there, and expectations were that he would become a first teamer. That evaporated quicker than a piss in the desert though.I doubt it.
Rodwell was signed as a reasonablly priced english player for the squad. Same as delph was signed for the same reason, someone half decent and experienced in the league to play back up and increase the english quota. Stones is being signed as a long term investment as is sterling. The difference here is that stones may not walk into the city line up but then he is young enough to bide his time. If bonucci and kompany are first choice for them then he will have plenty of time to be coached properly and will have plenty of oppertunities to impress and get in the first team not to mention kompany's injury record.
It is easy to forget just how young stones actually is. Lets be honest here, considering how much he has to learn, a club (everton) would be stupid to have a 21 year old as their first choice defender without any real back up for them.

12 million mate is reasonably priced. Even back then 12 million was not a big amount for a young english player with potential.Rodwell wasn't 'reasonably priced' when he went there, and expectations were that he would become a first teamer. That evaporated quicker than a piss in the desert though.
