No, I don't think it is over yet. At least not for the GME stocks.

That short squeeze hasn't happened yet. WSB and the hedge funds are at the stage now were the hedge funds are doing everything they can to get the price to drop. Either way they are done for when their buy orders come up.

The other stocks WSB are backing don't have this short squeeze play attached so the only thing driving the likes of AMC share prices right now is hype.

Hold the stock.

I do think this will ultimately hurt more of these retail investors than benefit, but you also shouldn’t be changing the rules to protect institutions that made stupid bets.

Particularly as hedge funds are presumably still able to buy (and therefore cover their shorts) whilst retail investors aren’t.

And hopefully there can be bipartisan agreement to remove the awful “carried interest” fund manager tax loophole.

This has been the most shocking turn of events that I have seen come out of this.

How on earth are they allowed to do that?

I thought something strange was going on when I saw that they had removed the "Buy" option on these stocks but selling them without permission from the holder is surely illegal?

This has been hugely entertaining. Do worry that some people who can least afford to lose money will end up being caught out when people with huge unrealised gains start to try and realise them by selling, though. But, fair play.

Got talked out of investing in AMD stocks 10 years ago, and i have not trusted an investment banker since.

I know someone who used to be an investment banker and asked them once for advice on whether to invest and how to go about it. He said not to bother as they’re basically just making bets and none of them have a clue what they’re really doing lol
