It's basically this in the short term.

But unfortunately a lot of low to mid-income people won't get the joke here. It's obviously not sustainable.

But... that said, I must admit it's funny and applaud the genius of it.
The only thing I don't like about this is that millions of everyday people have their pensions invested in stocks and shares. While it may be great fun to beat Wall st at its own game, it could leave millions of ordinary people out of pocket when they retire

But thats the market.

There's no guarantees.

Actually this is true. On balance though, the vast majority should see little to no effect. Those retiring right now will see a potential drop in the pension.

The reddit crowd are mostly young. They're against the "boomers". Most people retiring are in fact not going to get a huge pension or enjoy vast wealth. This attitude was bought about by the politics of division by the political parties and those making the money.

Up in premarket. How long do I hold?

Are there any HL users here?

Last night I placed an order for $gme, it was 190 at close but went to 310 post market when I placed the order - I went for max price 314.

What I’m not sure about is how pre-market works on HL, and whether it’ll place the order now as it’s 403 pre-market, or whether I’ve missed the boat and will need to place a new order at the price is opens at 2:30pm?

If HL doesn’t work for pre-market, are there any alternatives that definitely do?

Any help would be appreciated!

Generally, if the market is shut I think the trade won’t be executed until the market opens and it’ll be at whatever the price is at that point. Unless you put limits in place etc.

Thanks for the quick answer! I’m surprised by that as there’s been such a huge pre-market move since close yesterday.

For such a big firm you’d expect them to offer it likes others must do..

I use HL - from what I can gather they don't really 'do' pre or post-market trades online, they'll just try and fill the order at 2:30. Think Trading 212 were planning to allow out of hours trades but not sure if they ever got around to it.

No there's not, but peoples retirement funds shouldn't be used as collateral damage just so someone can stick it to the man.

Then I suggest that investing in a company who leaves themselves that exposed is not a sensible investment. Besides, millenials will have to work until they drop, so I don't see why boomers shouldn't also get to enjoy the fun.

F the boomers I say, F them right in the ear.

Just when I thought it wasn't possible to love Papa Elon enough, he mentions BTC and the price shoots right back up. What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man

I think that's acceptable collateral damage personally. The system is so broken that to fix it in favour of everybody, it means those who unfortunately have been used as a stepping stone to riches might take a hit.

The alternative is the status quo continuing and the rich getting richer whilst the poor get poorer.

I'm fine with capitalism, but not rampant unchecked capitalism.
