I invested about 1K in Gamestop when it tanked to $3.50 and promptly sold it when it hit $7 a few months later because its a freaking dead company. whoops.

Don't mind what the robinhooders are doing. Short Selling is a necessary check on a company. However actively buying tons of shares, getting board seats and working overtime to actively sabatoge the company is a lot worse than a bunch of redditors and robinhooders getting together on message boards. You want to actively lobby for less stonk market regulation and slap on the wrist penalties? other can play the game too.

Generally you can sell them through the registrar. You can look up who the registrar is online (it’s listed on the certificate too) then go to their website and see the process. You’ll need your postcode, name, certificate id, number of shares etc. Then you plug the information in and it’ll tell you what’s on the register.

Some you might need to ‘dematerialise’ first (make electronic) but most registrars have share dealing at reasonable prices (computershare etc).
