If that valuation is right he is a replacement for Lescott, there is no way we'd spend that much of our limited budget on a CB otherwise.

Considering the prices quoted for Hangeland, Bassong and Distin recently, 8 million is a decent price in this market. Would theoretically leave us about 10 million for other areas of the squad, if we could make a quality midfield addition I might be sold on selling Lescott now rather than January.

It may be a good price for a CB, but he's just not worth it. There are far better CBs around.

I think he might be a good investment, still young and progressing.
He's tough and puts it about, lets opposition know he's there fairly and unfairly.

I wouldn't mind seeing him in a blue shirt against the RS.

Can play RB and centre half, we have others have tried and failed! Likes getting forward and can score goals.

Like others on here, it's the 8M makes me slightly nervous. Deal or no deal?

Offer 6M plus appearance related add-ons. Otherwise, gamble.

I think hes a decent young player...but needs to do a lot of maturing for me....I think a lot of his problems last season, (Fouling, bookings, etc...) where due to the simple fact that Newcastle had no midfield, and left their back 4 constantly exposed, and also the fact that collocinni is a total lazy basterd.

However I do think that £8m is way too much, if we get him for £5m then I think its a good deal

Ae you listening to your fans DM? At least 3 of us think Taylor is worth a punt. Equalised by the fact that 3 of us think he isn't....

I'd prefer Steinsson from BW. That chap would tackle a burning gorilla.

Taylor strikes me as being a bit of a clumsy oaf.

He was immense for the U21's a couple of years ago when he was injured and carried on as they needed him. He then took a pen with one leg. He became great imo then. Take him any day.

Not bad actually. Like has been said, he's lost his way just a little bit, which isn't surprising seeing as he's at Newcastle.

Eight million sounds reasonable, given that the Geordies will miss him incredibly.

i agree with previous posts , hes abit of a headless chicken,
dont know if we could get him but i like that Daniel agger fella, end of day , if we get 22 mill , why always look at lesser players?

I like the player and the price.

Senderos & Taylor are nice defensive cover / 1st teamers and pretty cheap too.

Now to get a right winger in and were set : D

Taylor is the pits. Titus Bramble's heir to the thrown as worst CB in the Premiership, but he's in the Championship now si I dunno if he's got one over on Titus there?!

Only consolation is he's Newcastle through and through. I can't see him leaving them for anyone. Phew!

Now David Wheater... He's a proper defender! (y)

I like him, he has the potential to be a really top quality player which no bobht has gone unrealised at the Toon.

Always reminded me of a young John Terry and i like his passion.

I would think Newcastle would be loathe to sell him being a Geordie and all.
