Steven Pienaar

Never forget too though that he benefited massively on how good he looked by the one world class player we have had in years playing pretty much every game right behind him, they did compliment each other but Pienaar was made to look ten times better than he ever would have without such a quality player in Baines playing his side as well

Oh I know Mate, but that season he was involved in a lot with Barkley, Oviedo and Rom. He was class. Now, unfortunately, it looks like his legs have gone.

Played 45 minutes for the Under 21's yesterday and Cleverley also played so looks like they will be available soon barring any set back.

Honestly think it was the other way round. Others who have tried that left wing spot have looked poor even with Baines behind them. Even Baines Mirallas wasn't a great combo. Meanwhile Oviedo looked good behind Pienaar. Offensively and defensively Pienaar has been the best wide player I've seen for Everton since Kanchelskis but because he's not a wannabe Ronaldo type he doesn't get any where near enough credit. Even now he's still probably technically the best player in the side.

Load of BS, baines doesnt look the same player without him, if anything baines rarely looks at his absolute best when hes not teamed up with pienaar , they compliment each other perfectly

Not everyone will agree with this but I do. One of my favourite players over the last 20 years

If he breaks down again then that is it I guess.

Be nice to see if he can still reporoduce, but he has possibly had too long out to even be a shadow of his former self.
