Wonder when this 'Yogi' met the players ?

Is he still alive?

Will he be playing any time soon?

Literally have no idea what is up with him. Same applies to McGeady/Osman/Hibbert.

That's about 130k a week being pissed up by the wall by the club on players who'll never play for us again.

7m a year, for nothing.

It's the business of football. Not every player will turn out how you want, and some will prove to be much better value for money. As long as the squad has more 'hits' than 'misses' then it's going in the right direction. Nowt you can do about injured players. Pienaar when fit is boss, so keep the faith!

our club has definitely had more hits than misses. i understand people moaning about bad signings, but they're just not going to work out sometimes. it's not your own money so pointless really worrying too much about lost wages. we have made some stupid contract extensions for players over 30 in the last 7 or 8 years though. way too high.

I was really surprised that DM gave him such a long contract when he re-signed especially when DM knew he had no resale value.

And, all though you might not believe me, I guessed he would spend the last 18 months happily collecting
the dosh whilst getting enjoyable massages and having long tea breaks in the canteen.

I feel bad for saying this because he was such a boss player for us when he was younger and fitter but I really wish we could get him off our wage bill, he's on about 50 or 60k per-week I think and it's a massive waste.

Pienaar was the player we missed mostly badly last season, at his best he could win us games on his own and seeing him run rings around defences was a joy to behold. Sadly I think those days are long gone now and I really don't see him ever getting himself fit enough to have a run in our side ever again, I'd be surprised if he even manages to make more appearances than Gibson this year. I'd give anything to just have the old Pienaar back for a little while longer but it's not happening, his body isn't up to it anymore and anyone who thinks it can happen is probably just deluding themselves.

Love the bloke and he's definitely been one of our top 3 or 4 signings over the past decade but I really think his days of playing football at top level are over now.

I think he was over rated if anything.

He was a very good player and if he was fit now and back like he was at his peak I'd love him in our team however some of our fans got carried away with him.

Apart from the occasional good few months he has always lacked an end product and didn't create or score enough for the type of player he was.

He did bring 'something' to the team that's difficult to explain or find in another player though.
