Starting 11 vs Stoke as it stands

We stayed 4-3-3 in the second half mate, it's just Rooney naturally drops a bit deeper.

We just had a better midfield 3 in the second half, Schneiderlin, Gueye and Klassen is nailed on to be our first choice midfield imo.

Completely different setups. 1st half they were clearly keeping 3 banks of 4-3-3. Didn't suit Davies box-to-box style at all & restricted the fullbacks.

2nd half saw Schneiderlin mostly sitting with Guaye free to roam & Klaasen playing as a 10. More narrow with both fullbacks pushed on providing width. Much better IMHO.

Going by that logic, no youth player would ever break through into the first team again.
Perhaps I worded it a bit wrong, but from the start of the season I'm sure Koeman will go for experience over youth, davies had experience so he's good to go, Kenny will have to prove himself as the season goes on, in cups Europa etc. Then has to take his chance like davies but not
Davies was unproven when he first came into the team, how can you prove yourself before you've played?

I would like to think that the reason Koeman's brought in a free back up who's played about 15 games in two seasons, is because he's already expecting to spend a substantial amount of time on the bench.
Davies got a chance and took it instantly, that's why he stayed in the team not many youngster do that. Galloway the other season for example.

Martina is proven to be very very average at best!! If he was getting cover for Coleman he would of paid a few quid for one but he never because Kenny is cover for Coleman.. Martina is 3rd choice
We will see, but then it will probably be Holegate lol.

Playing both Gueye and Sniderman at home seems a bit overkill to me, I'd be playing Morgs and Davies. In harder home games and away from home I'd play Gana.

Anyway, I predict;

Pickford
Martina Keane Williams Baines
Schneiderlin
Gana Klaassen
Sandro Rooney Lookman

Id swap Rooney and sandro around and have Rooney drift more central and deeper to influence/set up moves and klaassen and martina able to make runs up that right channel.
Sandro has the pace to get onto through balls and to keep defensive line deeper. Id likr him more central

Dunno about that mate, Barry played the same role as Schneiderlin yesterday, just think the two CMs ahead of them were the difference.

Sandro
Miralles Rooney
Klaassen

Gueye Schnides

Baines Besic
Williams Keane

Southall

Planned subs: lookman for miralles, Lennon for Rooney, Davies or Dowell for Klaassen depending on whether we're consolidating or pushing for a goal.

Based on signings and current pre-season showings, what do you think our starting 11 will or should be against Stoke at the beginning of the season?

So far I'm going for:

Pickford
Kenny Keane Williams Baines
Schneiderlin
Gueye-----Klassen
Dowell???-----------------Mirallas
Rooney

No doubt Sandro will enter the fray and the potential signings of Giroud, Sigurdsson and Barkley's fate could change this of course.
Can't see Kenny or Dowell starting and doubts on Mirallas.
