Plays to our strengths. Holgate good in a back 3, Keane is boss and Williams can be servicable in a back 3.
Martina/Baines aren't exposed defensively near as much.
One of Rooney or Klaassen for the creativity up top.
And then DCL with Sandro off him up top.

Schneiderlin, Lookman, Mirallas and one of Rooney/Klaassen to miss.

If we get Gylfi in, I'm happy to have Davies at RWB with Klaassen sitting deeper and Gylfi playing, but unfortunately it means Rooney will play up front which I don't like it one bit.

We need a CF desperately.

I reckon williams is 1st choice, but for me he's looked poor in pre season. I'd pick jagielka.

Nothing wrong with a back 3 against Stoke at home. It would be exactly that-a back 3, not a back 5.

I agree though, doubtful he will play a back 3.

Even if Sigurdsson joins he won't be played. He's not played in any pre-season games and will likely not be fit anyway.

Woeful to be going into the first game with Calvert-Lewin as our striker and Rooney plodding around the field.
