Starting 11 vs Stoke as it stands

Honest to God, I absolutely love the situation. Cannot choose our best midfield. There are times when Kevin Mirallas actually seems like a world-class player. Lennon seems to have found the great form he had at Spurs (although that remains to be seen). More wingers will come in to give competition. Sandro seems solid, and we'll have another striker as well. The defence is great as well.

The best I've seen of Everton, and the best we've all seen for a long time. Up the Toffees

Mirallas, Lookman, Dowell, Sigurdsson, Viera, Besic, Barkley, Barry, Lennon, McCarthy, Bolasie

definitely more depth in the squad filled with youth. but tbf needs some gaping holes filled with some class. ie a top CB and a solid goalscorer.

pickford, kenny, keane, baines, schneiderlin, gana, klaassen, sandro starting for me. need another reliable centre back, a goalscorer and a wide man signed for the last 3 spots. if we dont get another proven striker then rooney nailed on up front.

Hard to leave Dowell out of the lineup, but I think hes just out. I DONT think Rooney is ideally suited to be the main striker though, as todays match showed, looking to lay off too much, hes better set further back. I think our starting 11 right now is:

With Dowell the first man out, Mirallas the second, and Davies the third. With more play that can change, but its too hard to keep IGG out of the lineup as the man some few questioned as relegated just continues to impress, and Lookman has looked better and better. Dowell right now is the ideal 70th minute sub to pull out a huge goal.

No doubt Sandro will enter the fray and the potential signings of Giroud, Sigurdsson and Barkley's fate could change this of course.

I would be (pleasantly) surprised if Koeman trusted Kenny & Dowell to play together on a flank.

People wrongly think that Klassen is a replacement/competitor for Barkley. He is in fact a currently more complete version of Davies; a box to box link up player. Klassen will be chose over him in the league but expect Tom to still get plenty of playing time.

Absolutely, Giroud and a new CB are essential.

Very little of what's going on right now has any impact on the starting lineup, come Stoke. Most of the changes will revolve around who we've brought in. The main reason youth are playing right now is to see who stays for bench duty and who goes out on loan.

I'd give Lookman a go, he looked great today. Sandro Rooney and Lookman up top for sure.
