Current Affairs Stabbing incident in Southport

I didn't say normal law abiding citzens are the problem. It's extremism that is the problem. Islamic extremism and the disgusting extremism we saw in Southport last night.

I did not condemn immigration. I condemned illegal immigration that is going unchecked. Extremism breeds extremism. That was my point.

I probably need to reword my original post because it looks like it's been completely misinterpreted. Apologies if what I said caused some sort of offence. It wasn't my intention.

It isn't immigration, legal or illegal, that is causing this - it isnt even "extremism", whatever that means nowadays.

The problem is that we all - left, centre and right - recognise that the life opportunities most of us have for our kids are worse than we had. The difference with the far right is that they've believed the people who, with considerable financial and technological assistance, have been put in place to tell them what is wrong irrespective of how inconsistent or hypocritical that makes them.

Its a platform for hate. And still largely unregulated. I use it mainly for football or racing but you've only got to click on one piece, for instance this subject, and you're inundated on the timeline for days with related posts.
It should be shut down but sadly peoples lust is a sign of the times.
Everyones an expert.
Its way worse since Musk got his grubby little hands on it. I reckon I have to delete between 1-5 bots every day that just randomly follow my account. I barely post anything on it, I use it for EFC stuff, following some sports science folk abroad (work related) Fantasy league stuff and a couple of dog related things. Like you said I get some right old random things on my timeline (some quite good tbf) most is utter nonsense though.
Sometimes I think with anything American they are just so scared of being sued as in (You can't tell me what I can/can't say because of freedom of speech in the constitution and all that BS) that they would rather just open the floodgates regardless of the consequences.

The pros are far outweighed by the cons for it now. Tbh i found its been vile for a few years before Musk be he's ramped it up more.
We're to far gone now. I was on a train over the weekend and i dont think i saw one person not head buried into their phone. Ive tried myself to have days i dont use my phone and last about 3 hours.
Its still relatively in its infancy in terms of history but the power and influence it has is scary in controlling peoples minds and views. Scary stuff indeed.

The austerity project has a lot to answer for. It is true that areas with more immigration need more money for public services. Labour in the 2000s had the Migrant Impact Fund for this very reason and it gave money to local authorities where immigration was higher so that public services could cope.

The Bullingdon bulldozers in 2010 got rid of it within months of scraping into govt. What happened in the years and all of the division we've seen since austerity stems right from things like this.

Turns out the “Muslim with a machete” was a fella from Manchester who was joining in with the protest.

Who’d have thought it.

All ordinary angry people though I thought? That's what some were chatting, embarrassing. They are far right thugs and their main interest is causing hate and division,
That poor fella getting punched for walking down the street in Hartlepool was a disgrace
