Current Affairs Stabbing incident in Southport

Oh, absolutely. There’s always a corresponding faction desperate for the perpetrator to be white so they can dunk on the right wingers.

Wanting to understand the motive - if one exists - is one thing, but the general obsession with race and religion doesn’t sit right.

In any case, keeping fingers crossed for the little ones (and the adults ofc) still battling away.
I don't think it's a case of people wanting the perpetrator to be white, rather they are hoping the perpetrator is not of an ethnicity or whatever that will kick off more problems from what is obviously a very emotive tragedy.

In an ideal world none of this should even be thought about.

So they turn to Twitter and believe the made up bollocks there and spread it about?
I know of a lad who works out in the Middle East, and he has built up a healthy social media following. He's been on his platforms this morning spouting untruths.

Already, there are people liking it and commenting on it, so the narrative will only go further. This is dangerous and a real issue with the society we live in.

I was chatting to my neighbour last night, and even she brought up the rumours. "But I've heard his parents were from Rwanda?" So fluffin' what...

Lucy Letby's parents are from Herefordshire, so are we going to infer that's a reason for her crimes? Should we jettison all the people of Hereford?

The infamous Wests were from there too, so let's build a wall around it? Thomas Hamilton came from Stirling, so should we close our borders to all Scots?

His ethnicity means jack s.... and its use is merely a pawn in the game of xenophobes and the rest. The police have clearly stated they do not believe it's terrorism.

Let's see how far off it is when it all comes out, plenty of witnesses know the truth and human nature instantly wants retribution after something like this disgusting act on our kids. Again naive to think differently
That doesn't make it OK, I'm sure you'll agree. Do you think his ethnicity matters?

Well, I’m Welsh so I expect I’m gonna get lynched in the streets soon.
If there had been an influx of Welsh people stabbing kids, soldiers, bombing stadiums, grooming as gangs etc I'm sure questions would eventually be raised about the Welsh yes. But stay on your high horse on a footy forum and wait for the next one. Freaks come from everywhere, it's the regularity of stomach churning atrocities on innocents that raises questions as to our safety.
Naive

I find some of the wording used in recent times to be a bit odd.

Stuff like things not being a "terror related". It feels like its a term being used to say it wasn't an attack by a foreigner these days. I find it a worrying trend.

You talk absolute crap… it’s people like you who are revelling in the fact he may be a brown skin so you can say “I was right I was right” …. There’s 2 dead kids ffs … take your agenda elsewhere because it’s not welcome here

Just out of interest...

Victims are rarely remembered in these incidents. It's token gestures. What they love is the 'enemy' narrative - be that skin colour, immigration, religion, and if none of those fit they move on like the fickle beings they are.

What those kiddies and their parents are going through is unimaginable. Dozens of people's lives have permanently been changed for the worse by witnessing such violence.
