Can’t seem to search this particular thread but I wonder how many opportunities to criticise the government led PREVENT scheme have been mentioned. Three times. Which should lead to a national enquiry into how that occurred.

What is the point in putting him in a cell for 50 plus years it costs thousands to imprison him and pay prison officers to watch him.

Because no state should have the legally-mandated power of life and death over its citizenry.

It cannot be overstated just how many warnings from history have set off klaxons this very week in parts of the world over where that sort of thing leads to.

It will cost over 2.5 million at today's figures to keep this animal in prison for over 50 years money that would be better spent elsewhere.
There is no doubt that he is guilty

There are cases like this one that justify the death penalty.
When there is absolutely no doubt that they are the killer. What is the point in putting him in a cell for 50 plus years it costs thousands to imprison him and pay prison officers to watch
If the parents wanted it I’d be all for it , likes of this fella and that Manchester bomber

Then put him to work to earn that money back.

But giving him the easy way out isn't the answer.

The problem is that there are signs with loads of people, and there’s a lack of legal capability to deal with them in a way that would stop an attack.

Imagine your kid is autistic, getting bullied at school and one night you get the cops at your door saying the kids been on the net looking at school shouting footage. What do you want them to do with your child? What would you be comfortable with the state being able to do to them?
Using this as an example... Do you know how long it takes now to get an autism assessment for a young person?

There's been a massive (almost 100%) increase in post covid referrals, alongside staff burnout and people leaving MH services.

The target wait time from referral to assessment is supposed to be 13 weeks. Conservatively, reporting states that current waiting times are around 24 months (it's much, much higher in some areas).

So if you are 10, and the wait time to progress through the pathway is 8 years, you feasibly could drop off the CAMHS waiting list and end up in the adult autism waiting list - which will also have a massive delay.
