An overly weighted midfield may shackle our attacking options early on, but I'm sure the plan is to equally shackle Spurs.

If we can snub their attacking movement from the outset then I think we'll grow in confidence and see changes.

Rightly or wrongly I'd expect Barry to be the deeper playing midfielder as he is more restricted with his movement.
It's certainly quite the acid test for Ron as a master tactician.

This is a tough one this especially against a team in form and at their place. I like the lineup. Depending on how deep Barkley and young Tom have to play this will be a tactical midfield battle. A mistake or a touch of class could provide a win. I think one one is written all over this one. A good point will be utterly deserved.

Unusual lineup. Looks as though he's trying to stifle the midfield area.

Looks ominous to me but hopefully he knows what he's doing. He tends to.

Playing for a draw, Horrible line up

Expect Lukaku to be isolated for most of the game

Yeah....I can see a quiet game from Rom today.

It could also be a lineup to keep it even early on and go for it a bit later.

I don't think he would see 1 point as changing much for us today, and I would hope we will show that we desperately want the 3pts.

This is a good point. There's no second striker today and we're away from home against a side that are very dominant at home and work hard.

Could be a nightmare going forward if we don't have a good link with him throughout. Barkley's never been good at that.

Davies and Barkley will be given instruction to roam. Davies in particular would be asked to try get beyond Rom. Our fullbacks will be crucial too.

Looks set to be a really interesting tactical battle.

It's still looks like 4321 except Davies moving forward into Lookman's spot and Barry coming in into Davies.

Obviously I'm fuming with any lineup that has Barry in it but I'll trust Koeman.

...I had a discussion on here with @bluestevon a couple of days ago and suggested Barry might start because he plays in the same space as opposition players who work 'between the lines'. Like Man City, Spurs have that type. Steven suggests he will get overrun because Spurs have more pace than City and he might be right, time will tell.

Will be honest mate, thought if he did play barry it'd be instead of Davies and red struggle for drive and 've pinned back, playing him as well and lookman dropping out, well that changes my mind a bit, Barry has legs all around him today, we've gone for the players best in possession to negate there pressing and my guess us Barry and schneiderlin will split when our cbs have the ball to give options, bet anything that spurs have worked all week on us playing schneiderlin and how to stop him, could be a bloody masterstroke this setup.

Does this mean Barry instead of Morgan will drop back? Need pace and energy against these, would have kept Morgan doing that and brought McCarthy in for Lookman, moving Davies up.

Both will mate, it'll confuse the he'll out of spurs as they'll have worked on pressing and removing that player dropping deep figuring Wed go with schneiderlin alone.

I think Tom could get the ball to Rom enough times to keep him - Rom - interested.

And I don't know why some of you say that Spurs are in form. They've been up and down like a brides nightie
lately and they were pretty poor before the Stoke match.

Doesn't mean they'll be poor today, but they don't scare me. I'm more hopeful than confident, tbh.
