As it stands, I'd say for his first season to be a "success", he needs to keep the sh*te at bay for another season and keep us in the top 6. That would almost surely mean Europe for the season after. Plus they would be absolutely furious. If we could have a cup run as well, that'd be ace, but cups are a lottery to an extent, so I'm never going to
expect a trophy. A big success would be taking a step up the league to fifth and knocking one of the London clubs out of that top 5. Top 4 would be a step up from big success, whatever that is.
Seventh would be decent, but a bit meh in all honesty. It'd be very decent if this transfer window goes south though. I still think it'd be disappointing to slip behind the sh*te, taking into account who their manager is, but they've got money to burn.
8th or lower is a big disappointment. We'd have to finish below someone sh*te and given the talent that's set to be in our team, that's inexcusable. I wouldn't be calling for the gaffer's head, but in his opening season or two, I'll judge him on similar standards to the ones I had for
Moyes. He's got
Moyes' excellent squad and team spirit, so if he's tactically better than Moyes, which is one of his big fans' main reasons for being happy about the appointment, we should be aiming to improve on what Moyes has done, not go backwards.
