Top Ten would be acceptable for martinez' first season...... I suspect we will finish much higher but realism has to kick in and common sense tells you that it takes time for a manager to settle in and for his ideas to take shape on the pitch. I'm prepared to give him that time and give him a fighting chance.

My thoughts exactly.

Don't really know what to expect. The players could have the shackles taken off and play some scintillating stuff, or it could take real time to adjust. I think in sport, to be really successful you can't be afraid to lose. And I think that's where Moyes let himself down on occasions. Our first team is a match for any side and if we had a bit more quality and depth then we'd be looking like CL contenders. If Martinez can add to the squad and bring through a few youngsters it could be a successful year. He always strikes me as an intelligent man and I'm sure he will have a blueprint for what he wants to achieve given the constraints.

Kenwright must like the fans who have low expectation because he will have a easier job. Suddenly, our expectation drops from finishing 5th - 7th to top half finish, really?

As one might say, this will be the transforming season and I bet the next year execuse will be minus net spend. I think we shall not accept results that are worse than the one when Moyes was here. Otherwise, this club is not moving forward but backward.

It's a tough job that Martinez has taken on, but the players should have the determination to win themselves. Moyes has instilled the steel into the side, if Martinez can add some tactical nous and freedom of expression then we'll have a very good season.

Success? Surely 'success' is Champions League Qualification?
However, in his first season id be happy with Top 7 and a run if both Cup Competitions.

It's not about low expectations or accepting mediocrity though, it's accepting realism. All the teams above us will outspend us and strengthen, teams below us are spending and strengthening too yet we are still expected to compete at the level we have been.... Nobody would love that more than me but sometimes reality has to kick in.

Yeah all the teams will outspend us but this isn't new as this has been happened for ages. Moyes kept us where we are, I am sure Martinez will want to do the same. We shall not set a low target for ourselve. Even the teams below us outspend us they just won't be able to catch us because we have a quality team. The gap is still massive between 7th and the teams below.

It depends on if someone steals Fellaini and deadline day and we don't have time to get a replacement. If that's the case ill he more lenient.

If the opposite happens I'd expect no less than top 8 and a quarter final.

It's our call is it (or Kenwright's)? Why shall we sell Fellaini in the last day with no or crap replacement? This will be a plainly stupid thing to do.

What are you some kind of psychic ?

oh no.....

if you were you would never have claimed what you did about Stubbs.

What you have actually done is listened to him speak, then come up with something totally different in your own head, then posted it on here and said " this is what he said but he never really said it " basically.

Everybody is entitled to post what they want on here , which is great, but stop makiing things up is all.

Haha. What am I dealin with? Use your brain mate. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what he is implying via interviews.

He says how good Moyes has done but it's time to move forward and progress his work.

This is totally irrelevant to this thread but you should know I am the master of psychology

To be honest, I really care if we finish bottom half as long as there's signs of some progress, the players are take a while to adjust to a new style of manager, don't get me wrong I don't really wanna finish bottom half, but if we're doing it with a few young players getting a **** at the first team, and there are signs of a promising future, the moyes era is over and we have a few 30 something players who have have played under moyes for years, would take a poor leauge position if the there are promising sign if good things to come
