Get the ball up to the big man and get support in around him. It works when you have the players to do it, which we sort of do now, with baines and Coleman supporting wide, Barkley and Lookman getting in the box and Davies, schniderlin and Gana taking it in turns to hold or go forward.
In previous teams we have tried this tactic and failed because we haven't got enough support into the striker quickly
...and it doesn't necessarily mean play long passes. If there's space ahead then exploit it by going directly at the opposition. There was one incident on Saturday where we broke, three or four players in unison bombing from the edge of our own area. I think that's the type of situation they will work on in training.
