Sir Landon Of Donovan

Laughing at the interview on evertontv, Donovan is giving an interview and Cahill goes past off camera ripping him, going "wooooooooooooo", "USA", "great goal, was that a touchdown" and that.

What impressed me from last night's highlights was when Saha went through and Donovan sprinted to keep up with him. You don't see that very often.

I laughed when he scored, Howard was having a mad funny turn in the goal.

Does not surprise me, think Tim put in a good word for us when he was first looked at. Have to say what are our chances of keeping him though. IT has been talked of before so will have to wait until the end of march.

Anyone seen the donavan interview on everton tv after his goal? Timmy cahill interupts half way saying "1st goal hey? TOUCHDOWN WOOHOO! Touchdown!" lol

I suspect that having the two best American players will really help Everton's profile among U.S. soccer fans, especially if Donovan's move becomes permanent. Personally I know that my fantasy league is suddenly full of Everton fans. And we've all agreed that this years prize for the league winner will be an Everton #9 jersey. Heck, I sought out an Everton forum just to see what the fans thought of LD so far.

Just glad to see Landon finally go to a European club where he fits and is wanted. Confidence has always been the key to Landon's game. When he has it, he's great. If he loses it, he can disappear. But for the last two years he's been oozing it. Its been clear in his national team and MLS performances and from listening to how he talks in interviews. He needs a team where the supporters back the players and help see them through rough patches. Everton definitely fits that bill.

Welcome mate, boss name like.

That bit you typed there: wait he signs permanently and the bad snides in the Lower Gwladys start getting into him.

If he does ace things then it's different but it's only a matter of time.

Loving the recent American influx however.

You see Landon smiling as he sees Cahill coming. He's like 'IT'S USA DAY TODAY EH? WOO 1ST GOAL IN THE EPL. WOO IS THAT A TOUCHDOWN, TOUCHDOWN WOO' then something else and then 'WOO' What a legend.

I don't know if anyone has brought up this point yet but there might be a lockout in the MLS this year. That means LD will probably extend his loan or even sign permanently if that happens. (y)

He seems to like us, we like him, lets see if we can make it past the first few dates. If so, it could be a match made in heaven. You know how we do love an icon wearing the number 9!

LOL I wish I could have seen this game. LAngone Donovan will stay a blue if at all possible. You can see it in his eyes. He loves it over there and I'm happy for him.

Next two matches I get to see on TV and can't wait. Maybe I will have a chance to see a Timmy Shimmy when Landon scores in the derby match(y)

Wait until he is at full fitness and is still playing in the last minutes of a close match and makes one of his 70 yd sprints either on a counter or to get back and defend. You can be sitting there focusing on one part of the pitch when a blur catches the corner your eye and then you realize it is Landon making up ground on all of the other players like he was shot out of a cannon. Well, maybe not quite like a cannon, but I also find his pace very, very impressive. When combined with his workrate, it is downright admirable.

I have said it before and I still believe that Donovan is in the EPL to stay. It is just a question of whether his loan will be extended or that he will leave the Galaxy after the world cup. On this side of the pond, the galaxy fans are anguishing over his probable departure but most believe that Donovan has more than paid his dues and is entitled to his chance in the big league. All of us, want him to succeed in the Prem league especially if its with Everton but it would be nice to see him return to the Galaxy after the world cup for a farewell tour and a run at the championship before he goes. In the meantime, I will proudly wear my new #9 Everton kit. COYB!!!
