This.. **** Donovan.. I think RFUS said it best.. He enjoys being the big fish in a small pond..

Close Thread.
LOL I know some are upset but you are all looking at this wrong. You are playing the big fish scenario when it is actually admirable that he is staying in MLS. While I'm sure he loved it at Everton, the LA Galaxy is his club and it always has been. It's his hometown club.

It's admirable that he didn't run off to the big club like Rooney and Lescott did to you guys. He stayed likely because he wants to continue to help the sport grow in the US and because he wants to get the LAG more Cups.

I know it's hard to hear but Everton is not/was not his club... It was the Galaxy. Don't turn him into the bad guy for doing the right thing by his club.

I'm sure he just wanted a permanent move, not a loan..

I watch the MLS, big Crew fan, as you can tell by my name on this great forum.
The MLS is very poor, and to say Donovan made an admirable choice in staying in a poor league during his prime playing years? has a hint of American/ MLS Bias..

Some (including myself) would argue that he would have made a BIGGER impact on American Soccer applying his trade in THE BEST League in the WORLD..

Let's be realistic here..

Lad , with respect , mate .
Read the previous 150 pages . It was FAR , FAR Bigger than the MLS , my mate

Far bigger . Also DOUGH influenced .

Heavily .

Despite the Press Conference , Id say the MLS was #4/5 on the list , kid , in truth .

Ehh... I don't think it is a very poor league. Sure MLS teams don't have the quality of a Man City but neither does Everton or Birmingham City or Wigan or...

I think it's poor that a league has teams that can't afford one player on winter break and another team like Man City has stacks and stacks of stars.

Sure let's be realistic. Landon Donovan puts butts in seats at MLS games on the road. If he's in England those people don't go to the games. I didn't want to ruffle any feathers I just wanted to point out that the people now turning on him maybe could have used a little perspective.

It seems that everyone is missing the fact that Landon was gassed.

I have watched every one of Landon's televised games with the Galaxy, he was not the same after the World Cup. It was clear that he was pretty exhausted, the type of mental fatigue that a week's rest wouldn't helped.

His level of performance in Galaxy games dropped off, yes he was still dangerous as ever, still doing a fine job running around on the pitch, but he was not getting as many touches, not involving himself as heavily on offense, not finding the open room he is so good at.

Everton would not be getting the Landy of last year, that is for sure, it would have been a fatigued Landon that needs some down time to recharge the batteries.

Interestingly, today Gremio (Brazilian club ) announced Ronaldinho had agreed to a contract once they come to terms with Milan. The Galaxy had been looking at bringing him in, and now might be more likely to want to keep Landy, it was rumored had they landed Ronaldinho they would have had to get rid of him. It does seem unlikely, but we never know what will happen.

One thing is for sure, Landon loves The Toffee's and would most likely only want to return here...

Your opinion is respected..

I would have said, "Money" Not quality..

History mate, we have History..

The MLS is 30-50 years away from being anywhere near the Prem.. This is Fact.

For instance: If the UK created an American football league in '93 it would take YEARS 20-30-40 to be compared to the NFL, which has a glorious history.

 * I think the UK has an American football league, not sure.

Anyways, catch my drift? Big Fish, Little pond?
(The best American Soccer player EVER, finishes his career in the MLS)

Maybe Bruce should have rested him against the Islanders, or maybe once the Galaxy had ensured a playoff spot he should have been rested.. ?

Bruce Arena is an idiot.

I thought that.

Then I read this

Spousal support and attorney fees?

Is TMZ reliable or full of exaggerated lies like the redtops?

EDIT: Oh it has copies of the papers...

TMZ is like a disgrace when it comes what they report about. But they freaking are almost always right on Celebrity Gossip... With this report you can pretty much chalk it up as truth. They are reliable. Reliable for crap like this. This is awesome find lol. Maybe he is going to be worn out from the divorce.

This thread is like a super bug you cannot kill. Danny already tried once......
