Landon Donovan has urged Everton to bring him back to Goodison Park – as David Beckham ruled out a move to the Blues.

Everton manager David Moyes has been linked with loan moves for the two Los Angeles Galaxy stars after Donovan’s fruitful spell at Goodison last season.

And USA captain Donovan has made it clear he would like to come back to Merseyside if a deal can be struck.

Donovan, in Zurich to promote the USA bid for the 2022 World Cup, said: “I want to go back to Everton. How could I not after last time?

“But I have to be responsible to my body. I would say it is 50-50 at the moment. I have had two weeks off and if my body feels better I would say there is a good chance, but if I still feel tired then we will have to see.”

Well hello there story that I love that makes me feel better... 50/50 straight from LD huh? LD still promoting Everton (and ONLY Everton by the way, suck it Newcastle & Man City) huh? Hmmm...says to me LCAB's 70/30 may be just about right.

Yo, Source man, listen to your buddy LCAB and plead with Everton to help LD out with his matters. :)

Did a quick google, the 50/50 story was picked up everywhere. If he wanted to keep this quiet, that wasn't the way to go about it. Most folks paired it with the Becks story (of not going) too, so it's permeated the internets....

I just wish it was permanent...The reason we went on a good run last season was the brilliant contribution of Landon...He just seemed to make the team tick..the missing cog so to speak..If we do get him on loan and things improve on the pitch like they did last year..We need to do everything to sign him on a permanent basis in the summer..We can't go on to finish strong and start a season poorly...

A good sign from Landon that he wants to come back. This thread has been going for some time now and I hope for everyone who has posted on it for almost a year that this move doesn't suck if it goes through again cos it's no guarantee that he'll ace his spell yet again. It will be a whole new beginning if he comes and expecting that he'll turn it all around all by himself is not the best of expectations. Last season, the entire squad turned in on after january and that helped him. He won't be able enjoy his game, Donovan if the others [Poor language removed] all over the park.

So the 25 or so lads in that dressing room who say that we take it as a team and this and that need to man up and do their talk on the pitch. The last thing you want is asking Donovan come january is to pull us up from near the bottom up to the top half while the others sit back and count their money.
