Don't see much wrong with what Nev has said there.

He's club captain. What's he meant to say? 'yeah, we'll probably finish about 12th because our loser chairman won't cough up any dosh'

A bit of sensitivity wouldn't go amiss mate. Does he really think anyone's up for talk of doing great things when this season proves the club are about as close to greatness as Bolton Wanderers?

You are on fire this week, every captain from every team probably says this, we just don't look out for it.

Do we still want Eagles Davek? NSNO and all that?

Ah i see where this is going!

Well im speaking about the potential of the squad if im honest, more to come for me.

Its intresting none the less to look at the sums, Spurs, City and the ****e have spent to just get their noses in front of us isnt it. But i take your point - who wouldnt like more money for players really!

Spurs have been dining at the top table in Europe and Man City will be too nxt season. Oh yeah, we're competing with them aren't we?

No, we want Ozil, but Eagles is what we can afford (maybe).

No, I'd like some big Euro-Buzzards but I guess one Eagle and a few Finch Farm products will have to do.. The Tits can sign for the Rednoses..

The latest words of wisdom from Captain Point Finger: http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk...ve-to-cash-in-on-best-players-92534-28728865/

Skipper Neville has suggested selling a star name may be a necessary step for Everton, while citing the exit of Wayne Rooney as an example of how it can ultimately work in the club’s favour.
“It is the way of the world at a club like Everton,” said Neville. “Sometimes to move forward, you might have to sell one of your better players, like we did with Rooney.
“But the year after we sold Rooney, we qualified for the Champions League, so it isn’t necessarily a bad thing sometimes.
“Sometimes you just have to take a hit on one of your superstars, and take one step back so you can take two forwards.”

Go to Spurs FFS.

What we really want is a captain that says: We're going backwards. We have the worst manager, a core group of bad players signed up, and we need loads of new faces to replace them. "we are miles away. The future is darkness and despair. We may as well not bother. Chins down lads. What's even the point in training hard and bothering. Fück it eh...

It's that kind of pessimism and despair that really rallies the troops and increases morale. We'd be world beaters if only Neville could summon this sense of pointlessness and ennui and distil it within the squad.

Do we really need a captain who says 'we should sell Fellaini or Rodwell'?

He didn't say that. He said we may have to sell to buy.

Other than that its his job to rally both the fans and the squad. Doom and gloom lowers morale and affects results (see West Ham). Have a go at the board for not providing funds but its hardly the captains fault.

What is it with you recently? There's been a transparent attempt to denigrate the Everton Captain (sometimes resorting to clutching at ludicrous straws in the process) on about five different threads.

What's your problem, he's fückin' ace?

Me, I like the man, there I said it. He is a leader on the field and probably off it as well.

What he's actually saying makes a lot of sense, we, as a club, have no money and baring the arrival of a previously unmentioned billionaire investor we have to sell to buy. This very fact has been mooted several times in this Forum

I wouldn't want our club captain selling false promises or spouting any old tosh just to appease the masses

He's a thoroughly decent lad.
As Sid said on and off the pitch.

Him and his family raised over 20m for a kiddies hospital. See here.

Only in the nutty world of forums with keyboard warriors holding twisted grudges for the lamest of reasons do we get this kind of comment - an Everton fan sl@gging off the Everton captain on an Everton forum for stating the obvious.

sl@g Gerrard or Carragher off instead, jesus.

At least he seems to wear the shirt with pride and wants to stay. He turned down Spurs in January and at least he is positive. Money is the answer and we don't have enough of it.
