Should Moyes be in charge for the last two games?

To me its most likely that he didn't know United were about to offer him the job, I still believe he was applying pressure to the board, whilst also seeing what came up offers wise.

It beggars belief that people would still peddle that nonsense about Moyes's prevarication over the contract being about him "applying pressure to the board".

It is self delusion writ large.

There are way too many people on this board more concerned wiith David Moyes than they are with Everton FC.

There is only one way an Everton fan should be looking at this situation as it has played out since January.....and that is through the prism of being an Evertonian.

We don't (or shouldn't) care that he was looking out for himself by "waiting to see what came up offers wise".

He was looking out for himself as he is entitled too......but what is good for David Moyes is way down our list of priorities.

Or it should be.

You honestly think it's better that a club in Everton's financial position should miss out on compensation rather than suffer the heartache of seeing Moyes sign a new deal and then leave anyway?

I agree that Moyes doesn't owe Everton anything, but at the same time I keep reading/hearing people refer to him as some bastion of morality. I'm well and truly fed up of the love-in now and I'm looking forward to seeing the back of him. Also, I hope this is the end of Everton's cosy relationship with United.

The 'I'm well and truly fed up of the love in and I'm looking forward to seeing the back of him' sums it up really.

If you don't like Moyes fine, but it seems to me ....oh dear speculating, a bit like why Moysey was at Brighton last night. I heard that the tea lady is top drawer and he was there poaching her for his team U, and well my mate tells me the pies are such a delight that Moysey was seen eating one and was so complimentary that he wanted them at OT next season.

'I hate the love in' so much that ......

You can either believe what Moyes says about his contract or not. But trying to have a go at the manager because he didn't sign a contract so that we get compensation sums it up really. I wonder if we have a solid contract for the bloke that comes on the tannoy and announces 'Operation Goodison' he's boss.

I just hope our fans don't keep on about him years later like the freaks over the road with Rafael. He done a good job, no more no less, he is gone and shouldnt be brought up at all when the new manager is in place

You're right. It was crazy of me to suggest that Moyes was probably taking a look at Wilfried Zaha, who will be his player next season. He was almost certainly there on Everton-related business.

Your last paragraph doesn't even make sense. I suppose we should hope that all the players run their contracts down as well, seeing as though whatever David 'Ned Stark' Moyes does is right and honourable.

It different for them cos Rafael was sacked, Moyes had left us, we know now moyes doesn't want to be our manager anymore where Rafael does.

Couldnt give 2 hoots if he's meeting them on his day off tbh. I'll be more concerned if and when he comes poaching our players especially the likes of Baines/Jags. Fellaini im resigned to losing to someone anyway.

Its not a day off...it was WORK for the people he will work with when his Everton CONTRACT is completed. What points to this is the fact(yes..fact) that Ferguson does not and never has socialised with his players unless it was a Man Utd event, and represented the club. What they talked about over dinner was Manchester United.
Look at Citys owners..they sack Mancini two games before the season end...he won't even be at these games, Kidd will be interim manager. The minute Moyes aid he was going...BK should have paid him up and said goodbye and thanks, and put Steve Round in charge for the final two games.

It's incredible that they expect anyone to believe that arguably the biggest club in the world made the most important decision in its recent history on a whim.

So, Ferguson decides in December he will retire, he mentions to Moyes that he will put his name forward and he'll be there to help, all he has to do is stall on his contract so that Fergie can convince Utd's board it's the right thing for them. January comes and goes and Moyes puts off his contract decision again until after the end of the season. So that little scenario I dreamt up versus the one currently upheld by the participants which relies upon a whole host of coincidences and a few contradictions in the story since it came out. Either Bill knew or he didn't. That is what matters. If he did he's an ar$ewipe, if he didn't he's a gullible ar$ewipe. Choice for Evertonians is which way they go....is Bill complicit or stupid? Is he fit to make the decisions the club needs? And no laughing at the back...

To be fair tho the fans wanted to say goodbye to him, but I agree he should have resigned after his farewell at the ground.

I think the reason I've made little reference to Kenwright during this debacle is because at this point if people still aren't convinced of his incompetence then they surely never will be. Pretty much every course of action he ever takes leads to the club losing money.

I lost my belief in that sort of common sense after the Kirkby nonsense was mooted....but, Bill eh, the gift that keeps on giving. Often wondered just what it would take for Operation wake up Goodison to have a full effect :)

I think he'll be in trouble if the new manager struggles early on. I assume the reason he's apparently listening to us is so he has somewhere to pin the blame if it all goes wrong.

Oh no, have I mentioned our manager, in a thread about our manager again? My bad.

Apology accepted.

Now get on with being an Evertonian instead of a Moyes apologist.

memo to Ihaters:

Moyes has left you. He ain't coming back.
