Should Moyes be in charge for the last two games?

First it was 'Moyes shouldn't be in the dug out for the last 2 games'. When the overwhelming mass of Evertonians gave their verdict on that it now moves to 'Moyes said this and that'. People may have issues with Moyes, and I certainly did, but it is now coming across as being vindictive.

First of all - were you at Goodison today? Its just that the crowd (in my view) was showing appreciation for Moyes as a man, for the team after a modestly successful season and a great performance on the pitch. I don't think you can say in a million years that the crowd were in raptures that the United manager is in our dugout.

Second - my argument is unchanged. Moyes shouldn't be managing the last two games because he's now United's man. So him coming out with these ridiculously crass comments are part and parcel of the same problem. Nothing new. And its just further evidence of why this situation has never come up before - BECAUSE it puts the mand in the middle of it in an impossible situation.

I thought about it today though and I agree Moyes has nothing to gain by this. The blame here lies square at Kenwright's door. Moyes should never have agreed to it - but ultimately it is the board's call.

The Sky interview when Moyes says, 'I'm lucky .....the players made me and helped me get the chance to move on to better things'. I think Moysey is trying to make a compliment to the club and the players. I think he could have chosen the last 2 words better, maybe he could just have said a 'new chapter'.

But I wouldn't get too carried away a few misplaced words.

If from all the interviews he has done today, and the crowds reception and his feelings for our club, those 2 words are to be used to 'hang' him, then I think the anti Moyes agenda is being spiteful and vindictive.

I had to change my weekend shifts around to go to Goodison today. To ask the question implies that if I wasn't there and could only watch it on the computer then my opinion and observations would be invalid. Oh deary me.

I never used the word 'raptures'. I put the 'overwhelming mass of Evertonians gave their verdict on that (should Moyes be in charge for the last 2 games). The United manager at this moment in time, Ferguson, was not in the Everton dug out he was at Old Trafford.

The overwhelming mass of Evertonians had no problem with Moyes being in the dug out for the last 2 games. But there again maybe they don't know what is actually good for them.

Cracking post..

Proud to be blue today, thought Goodison Park gave Davie the send off he deserved and suspect other clubs would watch in envy at how we treat our own.not sure where else an outgoing manager would have got that support.well done Evertonians there today

I think for Moyes to say we will never be as good as we were in the 80's is silly because it only takes a billionaire takeover (City) or for a radical overhaul of the Premier league to ensue a level playing field to change that. Maybe.

But as things stand, I just think he is being realistic.
Around 5 years ago, Moyes believes he could take us back to the top, he had a glint In his eye, fire in his belly and wanted to create his own Man u here. Over the last 18 months I believe Moyes grew up and realized this Is a money game and nothing was happening on the investment side. This is when we lost Moyes. We the fans have to believe we can be as good as the 80s, and we need our manager to believe this as well. Moyes has outgrown us which is a shame for us and he just couldn't turn down the Man u job, he would have been known as ****bag if he had done that.

Ferguson has said he made his decision at Christmas.

But moyes only found out this week.

Yeah right.

Moyes has played a blinder.

Shouldn't you be busy accusing Everton fans of chanting about Hillsborough lad ?

He either grew up, or the landscape was perhaps a little different. City and Tottenham perhaps were not the challengers they were. Plus, don't forget, he has been jerked around by board in terms of money and transfers. All in all, you're right though - he realised with the current league set up he had to go and he would have looked a tit by turnng Utd down.

The more I think about those condescending comments the angrier I get.

Great send-off today, bags of class, sentimentality you name it but its time we all moved on from David Moyes now.

And Everton should have a new manager, one who believes it´s actually possible we might win something.

I was sickened reading some of the bile and venom filled posts over the last few days.To all the Moyes haters you lot got your answer today! The vast majority of Everton fans appreciate the job David did for us.It was like we were thanking Moyes and acknowledging that a chapter in Evertons history is over and we move on.Some of you wanted Moyes to be booed and jeered.I bet you lot are sickened this evening!Im really proud right now we showed the whole world today that Everton FC is all about honesty decency and integrity.
