I think our season now depends on whether we get someone in the next 2 days. I don't think we'll be close to relegation either way but if we don't get someone I think it will be a long frustrating end to the season with us hovering around 12th and going out of Europa early which will leave a bad smell around the club. If we get someone I think we'll push for 8th although probably finish 9th and do well in Europa with maybe getting to either a semi-final or even final and leave us all positive for next season.

This season is a bit of a car-wreck but I would like us to have sorted our issues by the end rather than relying on the summer and new signings who may or may not work. I also think to keep Mirallas he needs to see the club having a bit of ambition.

Whatever happens Martinez will be the boss next season so we may as well end these polls. It's not good for morale.

The thing is that people like you and me are of the opinion that we're not good enough right now but since we're in no danger of relegation there's no real danger in carrying on with martinez and hoping he turns it around. The sack him people are of the opinion that we are in danger of relegation so we need to make a change to avoid it.
The sack him people are the ones that don't like Martinez' style of football. They're using our current predicament as an excuse. They're old school football fans who want to see balls played direct and long with crosses put into the box at every opportunity. They like a chaotic open game because it's more entertaining. My Dad who's a Chelsea fan is one of them. He thinks teams that play a passing game are boring and there's a certain amount of truth to that but if we want to progress as a club and attract the best players we can't really go back to that style of football.

Dead wood?

Martinezs signings define the word deadwood.

McCarthy, Lukaku, Barry, Deulofeu...even Robles now...I think most are happy with them. There's been some debatable contributions (McGeady, Eto'o) and some duds (Alcarez, Kone at the moment) and one we really haven;t seen enough of to tell (Atsu).

Not a bad record. Moyes could get transfers right, no question. But he also bought some S****.

I don't think we need a poll after every match, whether we've won or not. As has been said, anyone who changes their mind after every match is overly fickle and cant really be taken seriously. Overall, the majority of voters have their minds made up and will only change their mind in the long term.

I've still voted no.

Out of interest, which players do you define as Moyes deadwood?

still one game at a time
5yrs or no, it's not what you do it's the way that you do it
If the poor, but no doubt very Philosophical ( this season ) plan A and yesterdays 'dogs of war lite' version of a Plan B is it.
Well what's the point.

Defending well is not dogs of war. No Martinez side will ever be dogs of war. In fact Joe Royle's Everton weren't dogs of war.

We struggled this season. That's about the top and bottom of it. Martinez, if things continue to recover, is going to be entrusted with this club's future. The very talk about departures is destabilising the club and making things harder for the team.

It really is time now to put this nonsense away. It's going nowhere fast (and that's the case even if we lost the next two). It serves no purpose other than to fill forums and give the opportunity to hacks to have a pop at Everton.

Moyes may have left them, but he didn't have to give out contracts to all and sundry, like a latter day...like a...like a
politician giving promises before an election... or some other thing prone to give away's, like Barry and yellow cards
I agree. He was foolish to give Osman and Hibbert and Distin extensions. They should be swept out.
