Should Hibbert be 2nd choice Right Back?

I don't think we can count on Jagielka/Distin to play 38 games this season, so we'll need Stones at centre back.

Anyone think Browning is ready to be a backup? He looked good when he came on last night and he's right footed.

Asking Hibbert to do Coleman's job of bombing up and down the wing is a square peg, round hole scenario. If Hibbert has to play then adjust tactics accordingly.

I've always felt Hibbert gets some unfair stick, his defending was never that bad, he just struggled with other parts of his game. However i do feel his time up and i was very surprised he was not released.

He's hardly kicked a ball in a year but when he was in the side he looked solid enough and when the backs where to the wall he delivered some great performances. I think he deserves a chance to prove he can still deliver which MArtinez obviously believes he can. Last night's game isn't enough to crucify him over, he's still feeling his way back.

I don't know why Martinez offered a new deal, or why Hibbert signed it.

He's going to end up seeing out his career by playing about ten games in five years.
