That was by far the best game he's had since i've been watching the academy in fact he's been playing better than Hallam Hope who i've been impressed with this season. So because of his good performance yesterday i will monitor him again, as in recent weeks like all strikers i guess he went through a barren spell which i think was about 7 games without hitting the target then he explodes

Good stuff mate, as a number 10 he sounds creative we havnt reallyhad a proper one since Beardsley!

Am I the only one annoyed that Hammar didn't play. I really want him to be amazing, and more importantly have a beast of a shot on him.

I spoke with Eric briefly after the game and he said he was enjoying his time at Everton. With regards to signing him i honestly don't know what Sporting Lisbon and Everton agreed regarding the loan deal but i will keep my ears to the ground and will let you know anything i know

Ross Barkley will be with the reserves when he gets back but yes he did play at this level and if you have followed my updates i spoke with Ross before the Sunderland game the other week and he doesn't think he's too far away but he's still limping

Johann was on the bench at Sheffield, i don't think he was injured or just letting Eric have a run out because the previous week Eric was an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw at Finch Farm in the home game with Manchester City. Johann has been the player in the academy that has shown me the most promise whenever i have seen him, he's such a strong lad and strong to in the tackle and very powerful in the air. He's just recently signed a pro deal with the blues and for me certainly one to watch out for

Keep up the good reports Alan. It's great to know who is performing well in the younger ranks & get a more personal opinion on the players themselves (instead of just the what happened in the games as reported on the official site).

As for Dier (if we sign him) & Hammar, let's hope they get chances in a year or so & not end up sitting on bench ala Duffy & Mustafi.

On that note, why do our more highly rated youngsters not get sent out on loan (Duffy, Mustafi & Baxter) whilst the ones less close to the first team do (Nsiala, Agard & Wallace)?
