Premier League sides are bumming Championship teams all over the place today. We turned up on Wednesday against one and just walked around passing it between our back 4 and midfield like a training session. I can’t see what we’ve gained from this pre-season so far at all, except for the fact that bums like Kevin Mirallas and Fraser Hornby can probably run a half marathon quicker than they could.

Thought the starting XI wasn't too bad. They had a few more chances, we had a few better chances. DCL had a REALLY poor first half, a little better in the second. Not much down the right with Walcott, a bit of chemistry eventually in the build up on the left, but just sputtered in the Sevilla half. Just not enough chances in total.

Which of the starting XI don't look fine, though? Honestly. Delph isn't going to start once we replace Gana, Walcott isn't starting, Holgate isn't starting, hopefully DCL won't either longer term. Everyone else looked okay.

Delph is a certain starter. May even be captain when Cloeman is replaced.

I suppose you learn more from a defeat than a victory, so this must have been quite the education today! Basically most of these players won't play with each other in a real game so I'm not too worried. Would like us to bag a striker and central defender before the window shuts though

Thing is if we won both these games it would make it look like it was happy days with the squad, but its not, this just emphasizes how important it is we get a few more players, so its no real damage done, just have to be ready for Palace.

I didn’t watch these today because I was watching the new Lion King movie. It was ok but I do feel these new ‘LIVE ACTION’ but obviously not live action Disney movies are a bit pointless. But hey what do I know? I’ve only got a degree in movies haven’t I?!

The only thing pre-season is showing is that the squad is filled with some utterly useless players and that we badly lack goals. We need to bring in at least two goal scorers if we want to push on this season.
