Are we even getting any real fitness benefit though? Our players look no sharper than the first pre-season game, we should be starting to see link ups and patterns of play by now.

That Wigan game in midweek was a complete waste of time and this tournament was just weird. When I saw the fixtures I thought it looked great, but what is the point of playing two 60 minute games on the same day this late into pre-season? Why couldn’t they spread the games out over 3 days and play 90 minutes?

I couldn’t tell you Mike

I guess they look fitter in running - some do, anyway - but agree in terms of actual passages of play because some of it has been POOR

Losing twice in one day  Gonna get the DVD out from last season and watch that 22-0 win against ATV Irdning to numb the pain. If these lot can't get motivated for 0 points in pre season then they shouldn't be wearing the shirt

Premier League sides are bumming Championship teams all over the place today. We turned up on Wednesday against one and just walked around passing it between our back 4 and midfield like a training session. I can’t see what we’ve gained from this pre-season so far at all, except for the fact that bums like Kevin Mirallas and Fraser Hornby can probably run a half marathon quicker than they could.

Hope people have taken from today that the starting team against Sevilla will be the starting team against Palace, barring injuries etc. One potential caveat is Richarlison for Walcott, but I don't think they'll throw him straight in.

No signings then whatsoever

Keane for Holgate matey ;)

By rights mate, he should already be fully aware of who's not up to it.

Pre-season has to give him a better opinion seeing that most kids play against other kids. When they are in training and playing matches with and against seniors and the like then a truer reflection can be made.
