ARE YOU SAYING ITS A JO BRAND JOKE?

Neither Sunderland or Newcastle have obtained investment to the level that would make much difference to us. Manchester is more attractive financially than Liverpool, whilst the RS are bigger than us.

Bruce, really?
Ellis Short is worth £2bn. I think he'd be able to offer Everton a lot more than Bill Kenwright.
Of course we don't want to admit it, but I think that's why they've had a couple of investors in the time we've had Bill.
You say that, but he hasn't offered that to Sunderland has he? I know it's fashionable to believe the reason we haven't been bought is solely down to Bill, but I'd be amazed if that was the only reason.
In Ashleys case alone he immediately paid 100m of debt down to save them 12m a year in charges. Hard to say that wouldn't have helped us a great deal, especially, as we were best of the rest at the time and most fans thought we were at best one or two players away from being real contenders.
Excellent point, when Bill was asked if he could personally invest at the shareholders meting he turned to Jon Woods and lauged off the suggestion.
It,s all good thou becuause any incremental progress from a new onwer is in fact worse than stagnation according to the happy clappers.
I suppose that rests upon how much you think we need to cross that chasm between best of the rest and regular CL participants. I think that much would probably get us into Spurs territory, ie floating on the border line, but would be nowhere near enough to jet propel us into those slots as happened with Chelsea and City.

Didn't Newcastle nearly get relegated last season? Is that incremental progress?

Alan Pardew is a crap manager nothing to do with what I said in terms of what Ashely has done to fin invest.
They've spent roughly £32m (net) on transfers since he took full control of Sunderland in May 2009. In that time Everton have spent £-17.5m (again this a rough figure). I'd say that's a significant difference.
I have a real issue with match going Evertonians getting abuse from non match going Evertonians (like yourself), for that spontaneous applause 2 seasons ago. That act was more to do with the disdain towards the BU than it was support for Kenwright imo.
It does your 'cause' no favours, as it merely riles people & will never win any hearts & minds.....
