Selling the club

Oh he absolutely wants to move the Jags to London. He's practically out in the open about that. So he may think having a London football team might help (but really if Roman brought an NFL team to London would Spurs and Arsenal fans think "oh good local boy Roman has an NFL team now ... I will support them and help him out"). Getting involved in local rivalries could hurt his NFL teams chances for fan support as much as help them.

I don't think that has much to do with it.

Imagine having all 32 teams with a vested interest in how your team does in the London market, and what NFL resources will be used to ensure that it is successful.

Then imagine what that does to the value of owning a club like Fulham, what it means for corporate sponsorship, stadia, media, etc.

I am sure they have much more info on how well London would support an NFL team than we could possibly imagine.

If it doesn't work out, he still has an very valuable NFL franchise.

Do you mean the NFL won't allow one of their owners to buy another team? I have heard people say that but the exact rule is "that they can own teams in other sports if those teams are in the same city as the NFL franchise they own or in a city where there is no NFL team." He could potentially pass that test on either condition.

My comment assumed that Khan would buy both the Jags and a new London team, missing the obvious that he would move the Jags. The NFL cross-ownership rule is weird, however, and would be interesting to see how an expansion/move to London would work given Kroenke's ownership of Arsenal (being an NFL owner himself)*.

*Although Kroenke presently dodges this rule with his ownership of the Rapids, Nuggets, and Avalanche in Denver. Similarly, the Hunts own the Chiefs and Sporking KC, but also an MLS franchises in Dallas.

Another one of those investors/sale threads, see the boardroom thread where this should be merged. BK is always according to him talking to investors/buyers who never materialise. BK will never let go of his train set.

So after selling their ground for the cash then what?

They still have to pay even more to build a new stadium.

The london thing is a load of bollocks, SNAP...

Fulham have a worse stadium than us but the BIG FKIN differance, the BIG FKIN ELEPHANT IN THE CORNER OF THE ROOM

1. Fulhams Owner cleared the debts - INVESTING IN THE CLUB.
2 Everton are NOT FOR SALE.

After so many years of Kenwright supposedly trying to sell the club and publicly stating Everton is for sale, it has really started to grind my gears in the past few days with articles being read about Fulham's Chairman Mohamed Al Fayed on the verge of selling the club to American investors. Now if Kenwright was serious about selling the club I can't see how no one is interested in buying us. We are one of the better teams in the Premier League at the moment even with our lack of investment. We have a strong following in the USA, Australia and Thailand/Asia. We are also a team with one of the richest history in England.

So with what is stated above I can not see why no American or any other Investers from around the globe wouldn't find us an attractive option. We have better facilities than Fulham, better squad with a surprisingly younger average age, and a better stadium. So it baffles me how easily every other club can sell and we are stuck here with a chairman who cannot take us to that next level. I am not scrutinizing Kenwright, I actually think he has done a good job since taking over, but the time is well overdue for him to let go of the club he holds close to his heart and let someone back the club and put us back amongst the elite.

Here is the article if anyone wants to view it:

The guy interested in Fulham wants to buy a Premier League football cub based in London. End of debate.

to be fair, if they really wanted to sell, a good PR could sell liverpool city to the buyer. it wouldnt be a huge stretch to try at least to show the benefits of liverpool city of culture etc good transport blah blah. not saying they would change there mind instantly but could definately give them thought

People don't want our board to be better custodians/managers of the club, gradually rising our commercial income. They generally want some super rich dude to come in and spunk money all over us like it's going out of fashion. That sounds pretty simple to me.

It's too late for this board now for most sensible observers. I'd have quite liked them to have clinched the NTL investment deal, to have retained and marketed 17 year old Wayne, to have overseen the Kings Dock deal etc.

But no, these simple tasks and loads other were beyond their inadequate capabilities. Like Thatcher trying to handle a manufacturing economy with some sort of social cohesion, they were found badly wanting.

So like her, they have to go.
