Seamus Coleman

I prefer him to try to take his fullback on from crossing positions, gives us different options on both sides, not like he never crosses it.

he's already sewn up his place in team of the year imo. zabaleta's good, but coleman has outshone him by far this season.

Coleman has been the best right back in the league since early February 2013. I remember being pissed off how no one mentioned him for a PFA team of the year 2012/13. His first half of the season was hit and miss but the second half was incredible (not to mention his downgrade on Fifa to 72 meaning martin Kelly was rated 3 higher than him).
The first home game of the season 2013/14 I bet my mate who I go the game with that Coleman would do better than Baines this season, I also told some Liverpool fans from college by the end of the season they will be saying Coleman is better than glen Johnson they didn't believe me. I spoke to them about a week ago and when i said "still think Johnson is better" they had forgotten they ever thought he was.
when footballing opinions change that fast it won't be long till he is seen as one of the best by the rest of the world, and if barcelona or bayern munich put a bid in it would be hard for someone whose boyhood club isn't everton to want to leave for them.

A nice article where Coleman talks about McCarthy and Martinez...

Regarding McCarthy...
Seamus Coleman has hailed James McCarthy for giving him a licence to roam to such impressive effect this season.

The Everton FC right-back insists he would not have been able make his marauding forward bursts without energetic team-mate McCarthy, who covered for him automatically in every game.

The Republic of Ireland duo were both on top form for the Toffees this term, with Coleman’s seven goals earning him a place in the PFA team of the year and being named Everton’s player of the season.

He said: “Obviously you learn the more you play – you never stop learning. I feel comfortable in the right-back position now and thankfully I have got James in midfield who, when I do bomb on, covers brilliantly for me.

“Without him I probably wouldn’t have been doing as many forward runs in games as I have done because I can trust him to cover for me. He has been brilliant doing that all season.”

Regarding Martinez...
He scored seven goals from full-back and explains how he began to think differently about his role under the Catalan.

“He introduced himself to everyone on the first day and let me know his thoughts for the season and what he thought I could do,” Coleman said. “I loved it from day one, really.

“He told me to keep going from where I left off the last season and he would put his bits into my game. He’s done that and I have got a couple of goals this season.

“I’ve gone to another level in terms of goals. It’s something that I was missing so hopefully I can score some next season as well.

“As a full-back, your job is to defend first and foremost, but this manager likes to attack.

“In the first game of the season he got me in at half-time against Norwich and showed me a clip on the laptop of a situation where he thought I could get a goal.

“I took the chance in the game and got a goal from what he told me what I should do. From then I thought ‘he knows what he is doing!’”

While Coleman’s attacking contributions received plenty of recognition, the former Sligo Rovers man also believes he has become a better defender under Martinez’s guidance.

“Last season, earlier on I probably made a couple of mistakes but there are not many players who go through a Premier League season without making mistakes,” he added.

i've just been having a random look at an online bookies website and saw some 'transfer specials', theres only a handful, but surprisingly our very own Seamus Coleman is on there with a 'where will he be by the close of the transfer window' bet - he's 8/15 to stay at Everton, then 2/1 to go to Man Utd...tbh, I can't quite see why this is listed (and is surely easy money?) there's no chance (ok, maybe not no chance whilst BK is still at the helm) but surely very, very, very little chance he will go - he's extremely settled, enjoying his footy, playing superbly and to leave would send out all the wrong messages to Martinez, the rest of the squad, the fans ect...I don't live in the UK, so have rumors started to circulate that this could potentially happen?

My main advice is to ignore odds on stuff like this mate.

Their aim is to make money so set stuff up like this to get stupid mugs to bet on it knowing full well that it won't happen.

Just remembering him pissing all over arsenal playing keepy uppy for 30 yards then rinsing cazorla what a proud day that was for any Everton fan defo the high point of the season for me.

I have heard alot of whispers saying this was nailed on if Moyes remained at O.T, not to sure if LVG feels the same way about Seamus now, I know he did grow up as a massive United fan.
