Im surprised to see no thread about him after yesterday.
I think in the last three games he has been right back he has been brilliant and has really helped transform the way we play. His move and cross to set up Jelavic was outstanding.
My only worry now is that when Gibson returns then Neville will be without a position as will Hibbert so Moyes will drop him for one of them two.

He's still not ready for starting every game at RB. No doubt he's proved that there are plenty of games now for him to be gaining more game time.

I think he's looked very promising last 3 but tbf he's not been tested by any major attacking threat!

as good as he was yesterday, id have Hibbert there when hes fit,

When Gibson is back he will play along side Neville, they play well together, i think Gibson actually carries him.

Such a raw talent, he learnt a lot in his stint as a right winger and playing regular football, defencivly i feel he still has a bit to learn but it's very promising to see him playing some really good football!

He cant cross a ball mate. Someone on here said so last week, so it must be right.

Coleman needs sticking with. The only way he'll sharpen up in defence is by getting game time there. Of course, all that should have been done in the last two pre-seasons, but, incredibly, those matches were wasted by playing the usual two suspects at RB.

I'd say Coleman at right back is the same as having a teenager in the side, you need to watch it carefully as he is going to be up and down and the manager needs to get it right when to drop him and stop his head dropping if his form slightly tails off. Clearly still learning the game there but obviously has talent, just hope fans don't get on his back if/when he makes a mistake.

Have to agree with Dave. Coleman gives us an almost Baines like equivalent on the right, and for him to improve and become more consistent he needs game time. It will be interesting to see how he develops when Gibsons back assuming that he is given the chance.

Phil is consistent but Coleman gives us something more exciting. In my opinion anyway!

It's going to become a bell weather to Moyes' outlook this situation: if he keeps faith with Coleman, you know he's got more of a mind to go out and get three points; if he reverts to either of Hibbert or Neville, you know he's going back into his shell and looking to consolidate defensively.

As stated above, Coleman is going to need an awful lot of patience and encouragement, because he's not "a Baines" or anywhere near that for the moment (and may never be), but his inclusion will determine the shape of the team in the coming season.

Look at the build up for the 3rd goal yesterday -brilliant by Coleman my MOTM! he needs a run at rightback he & Mirallis look the part down the right flank something we have needed for years!

Hmm undecided on this, tbh i thought we looked a real danger down the right - for the first time in a long time, Belg Kev was brilliant and Colemans offenseive play had a lot to to with that. He gives us great varience and brings the best out of Belg Kev, more so then Hibbert.

But then when i watch back their goal, you can see how having Coleman and Baines in the same team can lead to difficulty and vulnerability at set peices (though lets be honest the keeper has to do better as well).

The lad is certainly trying to take his chance so full marks, defo doesnt deserve to be dropped, but sterner tests ahead then Southampton.

Coleman is one for the future, he is showing promise now as a RB but need more action to step up that last step to become a PL defender. Yesterday he was very good, but I think Moyes still see him as 3:rd choise RB after Hibbert and Neville. I do hope Coleman will be given lots of chances this season to increase his game and show us all that he can operate as RB for our first team. If he gets confidence and improve that step we will have our RB sorted for many years to come.

His play before the third game was brilliant, both the run past the defender and the cross to Jelavic. If he can continue on this lvl offensively and improve defensively we have two very dangerous wings to attack along, in addition to Fellaini in the middle.

Neville done well in covering the right back position when Coleman was caught up field yesterday.

Coleman's positioning and defending need some work but as davek said he'll only get that from playing games.

He's done well enough so far. Yesterday was his best game in that position this season so far.

The two home games he's played there (Orient and Southampton) he's done very well albeit against really weak opposition in a dominant team. The two away games we were up against it a bit more and he made less of an impression but he wasn't an obvious weak link in either.

Agree with Davek on this one.
