I'm made up that he is getting this little run but once Hibbert is back will he be out of the team right away? I reckon so.

"Play him, but not against the big clubs"

It depends what your perspective and priorities are, I suppose. One argument against that proposition is that if you play a more defensive minded RB then you're basically just hunkering down for 90 minutes on one flank, encouraging quality opposition to plug away at it knowing they face little threat from a counter attack. They'll find a way through, invariably, anyway. Another argument is that if the worst case scenario unfolded and we lost a few points in those games what would it mean - the difference between finishing a place or maybe two higher in the table? I dont even believe the senior management want to qualify for the EL and the amount of difference in finishing place money wont be significant, so Moyes might as well use the season to find out if we have the basis for a right side to the team in-house now before deciding what to do next summer. Just give Coleman and Mirallas the same status as Baines and Pienaar, tell them they have the shirts in all games and wont lose them barring injury or catastrophic loss of form.

This should have been sorted out a long time ago. If he's bold, and doesn't obsess too much on finishing position this season, then Moyes can claw back some of that wasted time.

I don't think he's a poor defender, just new to this defence and slightly naive. He'll get better with games and experience and there's only one way to get them. Mirallas tired at the end and left him vulnerable more than once towards the end too which didn't help him.

He was what I expected he'd be going forward and having that pace and trickery on both sides was boss.

He's needed this run at right back.

i agree.

hibbert is average, neville is poor.
coleman so far has been average but has the potential to improve.
long term, while we are likely to continue to win nothing, give him a chance of developing into a good right back.

big factor in this as well is how our opposing teams factor in our right full, if its neville or hibbert then they'll not be worried from an attackign point of view but if its coleman then they'll have to put something in place to stop that avenue of attack, obviously it may open up a bit at the back if we lose possession but thats for us to make sure that theres appropriate cover in place from the midfield etc

Coleman is one of the best right backs in Prem League, but still has areas to improve. He should take more lessons from Baines on how to get good crossings into the box. He tends too often to take on his opponents instead of trying to get crosses into the box. Love his hearth though.

......important factor is that his goals come from open play. It takes amazing fitness and desire to regularly get in the positions he does. Don't forget that the vast majority of those lung bursting runs are fruitless, yet he keeps making them. Tremendous speed and stamina. I have to say I had my doubts, but he must be amongst the most improved players in the league.
