2025/26 Seamus Coleman

Seamus Coleman played in Everton teams that were mediocre.

£ for £ he's been the best signing we've made along with Peter Reid and a couple of others.

I've stated why I believe he should be in the running and it's also about embodying the spirit of Everton. He knows more about that than you'll ever know, that's for sure.

But you carry on denigrating this very special player who's got the admiration and respect of every Evertonian.
Pound for pound he still isn't close to Baines.

If there's talk of statues outside the stadium this lad should be in the running.

He is the spirit of Everton Football Club.

He's given everything to Everton including his physical well being; and when he's not playing he's doing the community side of the club.
Grade A

So many biting as well. Statue of Seamus cradling baby Davek, anyone?

So …. Let me get this straight …

You constantly bang on about how people on here “accept mediocre” and say that Moyes plays down Everton and expectations etc and is small minded ….

Yet…. You want to build a statue of a player that has won zero trophies during a 17 year playing career here?

Why? Because he has kept signing contracts even though his body broke down about 5 years ago and because he does charity work?

One of the most genuine, sincere and humble people you could ever meet. Nobody in football has a bad word to say about him, apart from some Internet weirdos on the biggest fan forum of the club he's dedicated his career to. Which is kinda strange when you think about it.
Indeed, I met him and his family in Sligo, a complete gentleman and a lovely family. I seen someone on his thread deciding he wasn’t as good as Baines, personally I cannot conceive of the sort of person that would purport to support a team by trying to bad mouth a stalwart of the club by negatively comparing him to another player rather than recognising that as a pair they were the best pair of full backs of the Premier League era. Small minded people are more to be pitied than condemned.

I think the online fanbase is pretty toxic for most clubs. Seamus gets a rousing reception every time he even goes out to warm up so I'm sure he knows how real Evertonians feel about him.

One of the craziest things of the first Martinez season was seeing both FB's bombing forward at the same time, and Seamie popping up on the left wing. Barry and McCarthy must have been an absolute dream to play with.

Rallying Cry is back on the graaarsss.

Ah, the clubs justification for not getting a right back returns - great. Will be disappointed in Seamus if he signs a new contract in summer. Not his fault of course, but him being here is giving them justification over the years to not address the situation
