2025/26 Seamus Coleman

On a more serious note, he is a club legend in my view as I don’t think you need to have won trophies to be classed as a legend.

But, I don’t think he should be getting a statue at the ground. For me, we should have statues of those that have won things with us. Build the culture of winning things by celebrating those wins.

I also reckon, if you asked Coleman himself, he wouldn’t want one because he would likely say he shouldn’t have one as he hasn’t won anything and would then reel off the captains and players who have done and who should have one.

Lads nobody is talking about him getting a statue except one orange man throwing a line out for bait.

I dunno mate. If the Friedkins decide they want to see some evidence of their staff working, we may see him outside the ground earning his crust

If there's talk of statues outside the stadium this lad should be in the running.

He is the spirit of Everton Football Club.

He's given everything to Everton including his physical well being; and when he's not playing he's doing the community side of the club.

So …. Let me get this straight …

You constantly bang on about how people on here “accept mediocre” and say that Moyes plays down Everton and expectations etc and is small minded ….

Yet…. You want to build a statue of a player that has won zero trophies during a 17 year playing career here?

Why? Because he has kept signing contracts even though his body broke down about 5 years ago and because he does charity work?

Seamus Coleman played in Everton teams that were mediocre.

£ for £ he's been the best signing we've made along with Peter Reid and a couple of others.

I've stated why I believe he should be in the running and it's also about embodying the spirit of Everton. He knows more about that than you'll ever know, that's for sure.

But you carry on denigrating this very special player who's got the admiration and respect of every Evertonian.

I love Coleman as a person and a professional … and he was a very good tb at one point …

But “ spirit “ of Everton and statues being built is lunacy.. which coming from you makes sense in a way

Building a statue for a players who's won nothing looks small time.
