Recently watched a documentary about the Celtic vs Rangers rivalry in order to learn more about it. I have Scottish friends on both sides but no matter how they each explain to me I've never managed understand enough to come down on either side.

I am Catholic and recently began to take my faith more seriously but truth be told, I have never felt affinity for either club or their supporters regardless. To me they're just as bad as each other, equally as cringey. I'm proud of my background but I don't love the Queen and but I also don't like IRA or feel any affinity for Ireland (even though I can trace family back to there).

That's because you've been brought up properly and haven't been brainwashed by insane psychopathic parents x

A Celtic mate said "You're Catholic aren't you? How can you not hate Rangers?"

Me: "Because I don't care mate, I haven't been raised to hate protestants and feel no affinity whatsoever for some club miles away (Celtic)."

Someone in work the other day mistakenly referred to me as a protestant and I did make sure to correct him, but it's hardly the worst thing anyone's ever called me.

One of my best mates here is a Glaswegian lad. All of his family are Celtic fans and practising Catholics.

Non of them are bigots and all the younger members have proffesional jobs.

They dislike Rangers in a similar way to the way we dislike the RS, nothing more.

I like to think that this is how the majority think on both sides .

The nutters on both sides are slowly getting fewer in numbers, it may take a couple of generations and will eventually it will fizzle out ( hopefully )

Would just like to add, spent the Subway journey back to Glasgow city with Ragers fans...OOFT!!, Their belief that they are THE PEEPUL is embarrassing. I'm so glad that I support a provincial team that has religious connections.
