Pickford

Kenny - Keane - Jagielka - Baines

Vlasic - Davies - Sigurdsson - Mirallas - Lookman

Rooney

I reckon on paper that would be the most positive team we could put out (Vlasic, Davies & Lookman would push on to support Rooney when we attack with Gylfi and Kev sitting on the edge of the box as they're both good shooters) but it leaves the back four more exposed. Certainly there's a time and a place for it.

Rooney won't stay put though will he, insists on charging back to left back at every opportunity ffs. Honestly think niasse and kev up top as a two are our best option atm.

Agree, I even slagged him off for a poor game today, but he does have experience with putting the ball in the back of the net regardless of his legs these days. He's trying to be the 'link man' too much and he's struggling.

Hoped he was somehow going to find some form and come good but his legs are actually gone, you can see him puffing after a short sprint. I would agree with playing him up top if he'd stay put. Agree with what you're saying that he could be a great link up player but alas it's Everton and things never go to plan..

Ramirez for Rooney and I'd be happy with that. Give the lad a chance in his proper position.

Rooney won’t stay there and tries to do everything. Not mobile enough and easily tired.
DCL works hard but doesn’t keep the ball well enough to bring others up the pitch and join in. Gets pushed around too easily.
Sandro can’t seem to control a ball and keeps falling over it, again unable to bring others in to play. Not big enough to play on his own.
Niasse hasn’t really been given a chance from the start but again poor control of the ball hinders his hold up play. He is fast and seems to cause problems more than DCL.
Kev wouldn’t work up front on own, too small easily knocked off ball.

All round not enough up top, roll on January!

The state of this club when Niasse wins. He seems like a stand up lad, but he's still not very good at football. I say we give Mirallas a run at striker. The only issue is that he's our best option at giving width on the left.
