@davek says He is not great.. and can't be a great because he's not creative and you can't be great just for breaking up play...

I agree he is immense and we play much better with him in the side.
He's not great. It's preposterous to suggest he is.

People actually believe Dave means what he says?

More fool them.

Never said I believe him... think he does it just to cause a debate... which he is very good at doing.. and yes i fall for his stuff too!

I only wrote that because that is what the poster was referring to.

I do mean it. Is it that hard to accept that a player of this calibre would receive doubts about his "greatness"?

He's had a dozen game's for us and done well. That's about it really. Some games he's gone missing in.

What's the fuss?

Respect your views mate.. just don't agree.

He is the calibre of player needed to take us forward.

He's a good player. Maybe make up your mind on his greatness when he's been here a full season?

There are some players we knew were good after a few months and didn't need to wait a season to have am opinion on... like lukaku.. and I honestly think he is the type of player needed for us to make the next step... now whether that step is champions league or challenging for the title time will tell...

Good player?

LOL

Hes amaze.

Mixed bag of games so far.

The evidence is this:

Signed as a lower league player; achieved promotion and did well enough for a move to a big club; couldn't hold down a place there; moved to Everton and has acquitted himself well in the VERY short period of time he's been here.

How anyone gets "great" out of all that mystifies me. It's not like a Rooney who everyone first off could see what a breathtaking talent he was and was to become; he's a player in his late 20s who's been around the block and achieved nothing.

Let's just give him the chance to master a halfways decent whole season at his new club.
