Mate it's fine. Come out and relax. No one is arsed anymore and that's credit to society.

Big fan of 'gay Ash' and threads like these.

If I was gay it would be a surprise to me after all these years lol

To be honest I have been brought up for it not to even be a factor. I have had loads of friends who are gay, I even have a family member who is. Makes no odds to me.

I mean if you don't like the gays, I doubt you're more likely to go to a gay festival than you are a gay parade.
The method of celebrating freedom of sexuality isn't going to change how you see things.

I get the whole gay rights thing and to be honest I'm not arsed if someone is gay or not. But like comparing someone to wearing hats or not wearing hats.

But after all the years shutting down cities and doing a look at us we are gay thing is just the opposite of what they should be doing. Have a massive party somewhere great, like the Sunday this year around St gerorges hall. Had music and all that, do that on a bigger scale and stuff, great.

Just don't think after all their history of lack of gay rights they should be putting themselves on a podium and shutting the city down to do it. Point is, the fact someone is gay shouldnt make a difference the same as hair colour, sex or personality makes a difference.

It DOES make a difference though. They are marginalised, they are beaten up. LGBT teens have one of the highest rates of suicide. The parade isn't for you, it's not just to say to people, 'hey, come on now, it's all cool now'. It's about being able to celebrate who you are in a society that often makes that difficult. If the city centre becomes a faff to go through over a weekend, I think we can cope.

Well said. And why shouldn't they display "pride"? The sub culture only adds to the city centre and society itself.

Ah, the only "I have a gay uncle so I'm defs not gay" routine.

OK. I'm not gay, but it wouldn't matter if I was? Wouldn't change me , wouldn't label me at all, only to anyone who held an issue against that which I would hope would lead to them not being a part of the site anymore.

If you have ever said 'All Lives Matter' or asked, 'What about International Men's Day?' You should be assigned a random number that if called from 'The Bigot's Lottery' the rest of us normal people get to hunt you down.
